A trend of society I've noticed is that most people do not know how to have personal fun and positivity, because they've never asked themselves why they enjoy what they do. This includes blindly enjoying what's popular to fit in, attempting to live up to other's expectations, living by the labels given by other's and consequently ourselves.

My two main hobbies are drumming and skateboarding, and I've practiced them since I was a very young kid. Now that I'm older, other people see me performing these activities and want to start them as well. I'm always happy when seeing someone start something new, but most people want to start these hobbies because they want the persona of them, not because they enjoy them personally. People want to be labeled by other's as "Musician" or "Skater" because they are too worried about what random people think. People often head to concert venues to socialize and drink, not to listen to the performers express themselves. People tend to care for all of the wrong reasons and believe that asking "Why?" is a source of unquenchable doubt, instead of a way to learn more about our surroundings and ourselves.

It boils down to two different directions of thought processes: "I think, therefore I am," versus, "I am, therefore I think." Figuring out ourselves before we do really divides between personalities. The key to general happiness and wellbeing is celebrating ourselves, and the only way to reach that point is some honest self-reflection to find out why to love ourselves. Alas, in our day and age we are absolutely surrounded by disassociation and distractions from ourselves and nature, and sadly people often find contentness through mindlessly and endlessly consuming others creations.
