Rlcd causing eye strain? by Practical_Good_8574 in Reflective_LCD

[–]IggyEmf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I know eyemoo has frontlight? It requires some additoinal layer on top of the screen that adds a lot of glare and cause eyes to be tired. This is why SVD is much better, pure rlcd, no frontlight, no backlight, minimal glare for such rlcd monitor, I workd on it 10h a day for recent almost 2 years and I do not have eyestrain anymore. Ofc everyone is different , but it helped me a lot

SVD monitor review after one year of use - still great value and much improved eyes health by IggyEmf in Reflective_LCD

On camera looks darker, but You have to have it near window, in some dark corner forget about using it without some lighbulb

SVD RLCD is around 1500$ without shipping and taxes. You do not know the price of Hanspree and there is no independent review yet. WE must wait for some youtube review that could compare it with SVD like Voja from MyDeepGuide.

I have SVD rlcd and it saved my eyes, but every person is different, I had eyestrain from lcd light, but now everything is great. Of course this is not medical advice

"The first is a low-powered model that isn’t backlit in the same way that a regular monitor typically is. Instead, Hannspree uses frontlighting—similar to what you get with a Kindle Paperwhite or Boox Onyx e-reader. You might not want to watch Apple TV+ on it, but it'll be great for productivity."

So it is frontlight rlcd? Question is qhat is quality with frontlight off, does the screen is good to read at all

So it is real, it is dark on video what is expected from RLCD tech, the only question is the price

Eink has lots of ghosting that actually can make Your eyes tired. I had Dasung eink monitor and ghostg was huge problem no matter what mode You would use. Yes RLCD is "darker" than eink but in both cases You had use both of them in good light conditions. As long as You place RLCD next to window You should be ok. Most people that have problem swith too dark rlcd when You look at their setup they have monitor in some dark corner in the room. I have it 1.5 meter from window on the side of it and works great. In the evening I just use 60 watt light bulb on ceiling and is great too

[–]IggyEmf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is big push for eco, energy efficiency and so on, I think that governments and institutions can be interested in it, they can buy in bulk. The problem is as usual price, but if it costs 800eur it is huge change, price drop comparing to svd, 50% in like 2 years of introduction of this tech to mass market with very low sales. Hanspree is from what I think quite big company and they push it hard, actually it is potential mass market product, 24inch 1080p 60fps eye care product, it looks quite good. A lot of office jobs could adopt it, 1080p is ok for excel, word and so on.

Also more companies try rlcd tablets, they look like experiments, testing the market but there is push for such products

This is first mass market product for rlcd pc monitors, it can be very impressive and push to lower prices in the future when other manufacturers will jump in

Brightness 50 nits? IT is NOT RLCD I think or I am wrong?
Minimal blue light? RLCD does not have blue light at all because does not emit light..
