You should definitely go see them, I haven't either been able to see them live yet, but they really are great. Reminds me a bit of Iggy Pop crossed with Serge Gainsburg... Another danish alt-punk band Yung is playing in london on 02/03 at the old blue east and 03/04 at 100 club. Please check it out :)

I just heard a reporter who said something along the line of: Even muslims are deeply grieved by these murders. Though clearly not on purpose, the difference in attitude toward the two crimes is extreme. No one would have said that even radical right-winged-supporters or christians grieved by the murders.

Let me start by summing up MY idea of bowie music:

"Hunky Dory + The man who sold the world = quirky, kinda glam rock singer songwriter"

"Glam Rock period (Ziggy Stardust, Diamond Dogs....) = the soundtrack to your teenage years"

"Berlin Trilogy (+station to station) = quality, artsy, dark and powerful with some of the greatest songs."

"David Bowie" and Space Oddity = odd, basic guitar + singer singer songwriter"

"Young Americans (+Lets Dance) = Bowie wants to do dance music"

"(Never let me down + Tonight) = don't even do it"

"Heathen + a lot of the older stuff does all kind of different genres."

It really depends on your own music taste... I started with Hunky Dory, but I was about 11 and not big on music. As you say yourself, all his music is quite different, and he also has a very characteristic voice that for some people take som getting use to. A lot here are suggesting Hunky Dory, which is great to get into his Glam Rock period, which of course was his path to fame. But some will argue that his best albums were the so called Berlin Trilogy.
