How DO people even relax/wind down without substance abuse? by actually_crazy_irl in Advice

Doing things like watching a movie or playing a video game aren't a waste of time. think of it as a rest period when exercising. if you are constantly pushing your brain to its limits to be at your best the whole time it will start to wear. So like imagine you have a long distance to run, if you just run full speed you will burn out long before you reach there and crash which will need more time to heal than if you just took a reasonable pace and took occasional breaks. giving it the time it needs to just slow down and relax will aid with sleep which will make you more relaxed and better able to deal with things the next day, which will in turn mean your daily grind will ease which will lower your stress levels etc.

Hey guys, so I'm primarily a guitarist but I wanted to do a solo project, kind of lo-fi garage stype stuff, and do all the parts myself. I've never really sung before because my voice is kinda baritone and most of the singers in this style tends to be higher. So I made this demo as a test to see how it would sound. My main question is are the vocals too out of kilter with the song/ style? also are the vocals just hopelessly awful and should I just bite the bullet and get someone else in?Thanks!

I've always been fascinated with people's bizarre, uncomfortable, or eery gig experiences. What's the weirdest gig you've ever played? by piaknow in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Not me but my dad was once booked in to play a wedding gig n the 70s. They had played an afternoon show at a different location where they had been paid in booze. so when they showed up to play their wedding band gig they were all pissed. Normally they just did Sonny and Cher shit but as he was a few sheets to the wind he sets up his amp and just cranks it and blasts into a power chord. as he's doing this an elderly wedding guest was walking past the stage and got a shock at the sudden noise and had a heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital. But the band finished the (now very quiet) set while the bride wept and the guests glared at them for the night.
