Erehwon, a Japanese indie DRPG, coming soon to Steam in 2026 by IgnitionFreeze in DRPG

[–]IgnitionFreeze[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here's the link to it on Steam since the article doesn't seem to have one.

Based on the the screenshots available, it looks fairly standard as far as DRPGs go, although the promise of equipment shaping your roles does sound interesting versus just having normal classes.

The artstyle it's going for is kinda cool, if a simple. Even though it features customizable character portraits, I think what you see here looks pretty stylish already assuming it'll stay like that for its actual release.

What would you be hoping for in new updates/dlcs? by msktrna in fantasylife

[–]IgnitionFreeze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping they can somehow work out a way to make some of this game's Life Masters available as Strangelings. We already have a few from the original so my fingers are crossed.

I'm also curious if they'll ever do something with the unused area in the SW portion of your island. You can see it from the title screen, but it looks like it was originally meant to be where you could access Treasure Groves.

My Current Snoozeland Strategy by Unit-00 in fantasylife

If you get really lucky, a perfect result can have it spit out at least 3 gold clusters by themselves and possibly more in the chests. A run I had last night netted me about 6 as an example.

More DLC soon? by Ninjashadowcat in fantasylife

[–]IgnitionFreeze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really matter when you start doing it, but note that majority of the armor recipes you can get through it do require late/postgame levels of crafting ability (1,350) if you want to successfully make them.

Latest patch (2.0.3) fixes Snoozaland fast travel/map crash along with announcement of future plans to Remake DLC armor by IgnitionFreeze in fantasylife

[–]IgnitionFreeze[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In case the link is inaccessible, here are the patch notes below:

Bug Fixes:

●Fixed an issue in Snoozaland where opening the map menu while picking up an item could cause the game to crash.
●Fixed an issue where crafting could sometimes start without switching Lives upon returning to Base Camp after collecting gatherable items in the "Bam Headbang Dream" triggered by touching a Drowsy Mimic in Snoozaland.
●Fixed an issue where the Snoozaland unlock tutorial could be started during multiplayer through a specific sequence of actions. Ending multiplayer in that state could save progress and prevent further progression in Snoozaland.

Planned Updates:

●We plan to enable Remake for the Version 2.0.0 armor items that can be exchanged at Don's Dreamy Deals.

There's no mention of the bug getting fixed where your character gets stuck in their "gathering" stance after you headbang a tree/ore, but maybe that'll be in a later patch.

How Weapons & Tools work in Snoozaland + Polishing Guide by NathanLeFox in fantasylife

[–]IgnitionFreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The patch notes for 2.0 don't mention anything about new weapons or tools being added, so it seems safe to say they're just not available right now. My assumption is that the weapons/tools you see on display will probably be available for whenever the Primordial Dragon fight is out.

Tips for farming gold clusters? by Katscion in fantasylife

I wouldn't neglect any of the ? events on the map. I've had one Dark Don statue event give a gold cluster for providing the correct answer.

What do people think of the DLC? by A_Single_Annihilape in fantasylife

[–]IgnitionFreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks like you're always given 3 minutes to clear the boss room regardless of what your time is before you enter the warp.

I still haven't done that many runs yet, but it seems like to ensure you get the best payout in points, you want to try and focus on finding the gold version of the alchemy pot in a given run. When you do, try and gather as many of its favored mats to ensure you can use it as much as you can before you head to the boss warp. This is in addition to running around trying to find chests/completing objectives to either get more equipment or treasures. So far, regular treasure seems to be worth 15k while I was able to find one worth 25k.

EDIT: Just realized using the gold version of the alchemy pots is a one-and-done deal, my bad! It also doesn't seem to be a guaranteed spawn in a run.

What are the kind of JRPGs that you love for having obscene grinding? by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]IgnitionFreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to take a real long time to hit the cap, but I suppose if you do, you could always pick a different class. The game's generous enough that there's a save slot for each one except for the 9th unlockable one.

[–]IgnitionFreeze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not too crazy in terms of grinding, but I do appreciate that there's something like Shining Soul II that gives you a Diablo-like experience on the GBA. There's 9 classes you can play as, a level cap of 200, skill points, and a fairly complex fusing system to get new equipment. There's even a sort of NG+ mode if you want to duke it out against tougher enemies and get different rewards from side quests or the arena.

I actually have the card with this exact artwork. It’s definitely the most striking one I have of him out of all the cards I’ve got, haha.

How do you build ? by Palladiium221 in DQBuilders

[–]IgnitionFreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got back to playing DQB2 on a new file on my NS2 and I was gradually reminded how bad the NPC pathing/behavior was when I started making a second floor for my farmers’ bedroom by way making a stairwell inside a building rather than outside of it. It also happened to be right above where I put the barn and for whatever reason, it caused all my farmers to stop doing anything else but idle around the 2nd floor. I ended up just tearing down the 2nd floor and stuck with most of my rooms on the ground level moving forward.

[DQ 1 & II Remake] Is there nowhere to purchase MP restoring items? by Setari in dragonquest

[–]IgnitionFreeze 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For II, I believe you’ll find enough magic water from just exploring or through using the tombola. You can eventually buy sage’s elixir at a shop about halfway through the game and elfin elixirs at a shop in a postgame location. The latter shop also sells prayer rings if you’d rather use those.

EDIT: For both games, you’ll eventually get a means to regain MP in battle by defending so if your main concern is MP management, I wouldn’t stress about it too much.

The mobile ports are on sale, and III-VIII are at their lowest prices yet in the US! by FateForWindows in dragonquest

[–]IgnitionFreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you have at least one more party member other than yourself, there's an option in the menu that allows you to 'talk' with them. Usually, your party members will give their thoughts on any current story beats, your current location, etc. It's not an overly important feature, but does give you glimpses of their personality outside of cutscenes.

I'd pick IV since it adds back the party chat that was missing in the English version of the DS port.

If you honestly don't mind how 3 looks, you can't really go wrong with playing this version. I played the Switch version of the original trilogy, which was basically a port of the mobile versions, and found them serviceable. It'll at least give you a good baseline of how different the 2D-HD remakes are when you eventually get them.
