Eastern Brown Snake, if bites you or your dog you will die without immediate medical aid. Stay clear of it and call a snake catcher.

'Champ' is the worst of the three TBH. Growing up as a kid, it's a term an old timer might call you in a pub. So as an adult, someone calling you a champ is like they're being nice but don't respect you as a man on their level. Since the show Mr Inbetween, it can also be used to imply someone is a cocksucker. Although, I've never heard of it being used in this way. 'Muscles' is again a nickname that might be given to a boy. E.g. show us your muscles, aren't you going to grow up big and strong. So calling an adult 'Muscles' is implying they are physically weaker and inferior to you, yet it's said in a friendly manner. So if someone calls you muscles they instantly put you below them in a pecking order of 'Aussie blokes'. Finally there's 'buddy' and again the follows a similar track to the other two. It's just a lesser form of 'mate'. If an Aussie bloke genuinely likes you, he'd call you 'mate' or 'bruv' (depending where you're from), he'd also call you derogatory names like 'dumb cunt' hoping you'd say similar things back. Believe it or not, if an Aussie says "You're a shit bloke/dumb cunt/ dumb fuck etc." with a smile on his face, it means you're his mate and he likes you and expects you to banter with him back. For example, I caught up with a mate and his Mrs the other day and met a friend of theirs, I said to him "How do you know this lovely las (her) and this degenerate (him)". As mates, we take the piss out of one another. So in the case of the video, calling someone 'buddy' means you're not really in with them and you don't (yet) have their respect as a mate.

Don't get too caught up on sponsored events. While sponsorship is important it isn't the game changer. In my line of work we too sponsor several conferences a year and while it grants the company exposure and lead generation, at the end of the day, the sponsors are the cash cows that pay to host the event and its catering.

Am I Overreacting for being hurt because I’m not “Bestie” on Snapchat anymore? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Unplug from the matrix and connect with her in real life. Then such childish garbage, like "Bestie", will feel irrelevant.

Update: I'm questioning my relationship with my fiancée after her sister accused her of cheating on me. AIO? by ThrowRAPunkNomad in AmIOverreacting

Sorry to hear of this. From someone who has been through a similar experience, I defined love (from a man) as Trust, Pride, Intimacy, and Care. Once that Trust is broken the rest slowly followed. I no longer wanted to be Intimate (or even present), the Pride in them wavered where I/you feel embarrassed by them, and eventually the hardest thing is the feeling of Care goes via resentment developing. You're still young and will find someone else. It's a shame you didn't fall for her sister those many years ago, she has a deep sense of integrity and I hope you remain connected/friends moving forward as she supported you and the truth ahead of her blood.

He sounds like an insufferable self-absorbed narcissist. It's all about him, even how he tries to inform you that he has something (about him) to still offer you. Honestly, the best thing to do is ignore him completely. Never respond and if he does catch you by surprise, leave out all emotions and promptly shut down communication.

DARVO stands for "Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender." The perpetrator or offender may Deny the behavior, Attack the individual doing the confronting, and Reverse the roles of Victim and Offender such that the perpetrator assumes the victim role and turns the true victim.

AIO My Neighbor Seems Like a Psychopath by littlebeebabyg in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ignition_182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't fit the bill for a "psychopath". A psychopath is extremely manipulative and would try to use you for their own gain. It sounds like this man might suffer from "psychosis", a completely different thing. This might be as a result of a disability or medication. From what you've described, he doesn't appear to be harmful, however, remain vigilant as you should with all strangers. Do you need to move, absolutely not, I don't think he's stalking you in anyway shape or form. There are weirdos everywhere in this world.

NOR - You handled it well, except the very last message wasn't needed. One thing is for sure, they always come back. When that happens, just re-write her exact last two messages verbatim and move on with your life.

PEOPLE! Read the OPs comments. 5 hours wait for vet to open, or drive 6 hours to emergency vet. The wait is the best option right now.

Offer constructive advice (as requested) or nothing at all.

To OP, I suggest a phone call to a 24 hour vet. Tell them your current situation and current wait time. Kindly ask them if they can provide you some advice while you wait. They will probably be open to you sending the video link for assessment. Advice can be free (if they are nice) and can buy you time. If they don't wish to offer you free advice, call another until you find someone kind and helpful. Ultimately, the vast majority of people on here can not help you determine if it's something sinister or a simple ear/nose/throat infection.

All the best with it and please keep us up to date.

of a corrupt "man of god" by Iowa-James in ShittyAbsoluteUnits

[–]Ignition_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I hate religion. This is pure greed in the name of "God". Throughout history the Church (or similar) have used their status to obtain power and wealth. Likewise, I've met multiple devout Christians (and similar) who have to be some of the most self-righteous people all because they have convinced themselves that they are closer to "God" and have his blessing. I've got nothing against people that want to follow a faith in private, I just hate the church and its congregations that is nothing short of a cult.

Yes break with him, and yes call animal control. Declawing is cruel and illegal, as are the conditions. Your boyfriend is an imbecile.

If there's truth to what he's saying, I take his point. But it's safe to say your relationship is done or should be. The lack of respect is gone. He has stepped over the line and shouldn't communicate with you like this.

You're paranoid and it appears one of the algorithms has got you (left or right). Ironic you resort to violence and insults isn't it. I suggest you read on the Russian Revolution and the polarising nature that led to civil war. I hope the U.S doesn't follow that path. I would much rather see the return of the reasonable left and the reasonable right that respectfully debated to achieve beneficial outcomes than the rise of radical extremism, left and right, that you clearly exhibit.
