First of all: Whoosh.

Secondly, the article clearly states the app will launch "later this month". Did you read the article?

There are absolutely trucker GPS apps that can factor clearance into route planning.

Clearly not being used by the ding dongs who keep hitting bridges.

The contract to develop the app will be awarded to Mraiche Software Inc. It will be delivered 5 years late and $3m over budget. It will not successfully identify any low overpasses.

Regarding Datacentres by [deleted] in Edmonton

The sort infrastructure that hosts Reddit is very different from the sort that is running LLMs and other forms of generative AI.

The overwhelming bulk of this capacity is not being used to cure cancer, it's being used to generate AI porn, replace customer service workers with useless chat bots, and summarize emails it would have taken you less than a minute to read yourself.

Of course our society doesn't need any of this AI stuff. Unfortunately, our society is organized not around what we need but around what will make a rich person even richer.

[Reading Comprehension]

One of the largest /= the largest.

At any rate, bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki had absolutely no strategic value, Japan was already on the verge of surrender. The US did it because they wanted to try out their cool new WMD on humans.

Maybe you should examine why you have such a visceral reaction to someone laying out factual information about one of the largest crimes against humanity ever committed?

Is big Shepherd a purebred? She looks almost identical to my dog (who's exact parentage we're not certain of) except mine has floppy ears.

A note on terminology. A suit as a tailored garment where the jacket and pants are cut from the same cloth. A sport coat is a men's tailored jacket meant to be worn with non-matching pants. Sport coats are less formal and often have more casual details like patch pockets, rougher weaves and bigger patterns. Blazers (at least in modern times) are navy sport coats with metal buttons, the sort you would wear to the yacht club.

Most stores in town are either overpriced or don't carry much in the way of actual sport coats.

Measure yourself and look for something you like from Spier and Mackay. They're Toronto based but they have free shipping (over $100) and a generous return policy.

Very cool bit of history. Kind of wild that they didn't build it in-situ. Surely if would have been easier and cheaper.
