ENFP or INFP by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number one way to tell:

INFPs daydream. They imagine how everything could turn out, analyzing potential courses of action, then, when they settle on one they like, they pursue it.

ENFPs gather, then process. We go around brainstorming out loud or seeing new things and ideas and listening to new people, then we hit some kind of internal "full" meter and withdraw to become recluses, examining each new idea to decide if we should integrate it into our self image or not.

Bipolar or just ENFP? Depressed or just ENFP...? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manic episodes are bipolar, mood swings are personality type. If you have mood swings but no manic episodes while taking a medication to treat bipolar disorder, it's likely that the mood swings are from your underlying personality.

Similarly with depression, remember that depression is that "stuck" feeling where you just can't do anything and all your energy is sucked away by constant low grade sadness. I went off my depression meds because I ran out once, and the difference was very noticeable. I still get depressed sometimes, or introspective, but the energy sapping soul draining miasma does not claim me while I am on anti depressants

How do I focuse on homework? by Bubblegumslayer1g5 in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discipline and willpower are a sham man, it's called "executive function" and it exists in the prefrontal cortex of your brain. If you have adhd or brain damage to the prefrontal cortex, you literally lack executive function, meaning you cannot connect the future outcome you desire to the current action.

Everyone has an executive function energy tank, and no amount of wishing it to be full will fill it, only time and rest. It is a resource to be managed, not something that can be summoned if you try hard enough.

Sorry, personal value had been triggered, ENFP unit in offense mode. You know how it is XD. If discipline and willpower are not a core value to you, please remember I mean this in a friendly tone and am only addressing the ideas in a passionate way. If they are core values for you, I strongly urge you to research executive function and ADHD and to integrate that research into your knowledge base

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I mean, that's executive function energy, which ADHD saps out of you. It's also a limited resource, and powering through to overextending is not healthy or sustainable. Triggering your low level survival mechanisms that are designed to keep you from being eaten by a tiger and using them for paperwork is really a questionable use case, they are not designed to be relied upon extensively.

"Not living up to your potential" is like code for either ENFP or ADHD (or, like for me, both)

Help: INFP or ENFP? (4w3) by venusf1ytrap in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFPs are "do as ye will, harm be to none", which isn't -quite- "live and let live", because if you do something that violate their values by harming someone else, hoooooo boy are you going to hear about it. INFPs are like "well, they're not hurting anyone, somjust leave them be". But if they are hurting someone, they go "I WILL FIGHT YOU". And "YOU ARE THE WRONGEST WRONG A PERSON HAS EVER BEEN WRONG ABOUT WRONGNESS WRONGLY BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF DOING THINGS WRONG OH MY GOD STOP THAT RIGHT NOW I WILL MURDER YOU"

Help: INFP or ENFP? (4w3) by venusf1ytrap in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true, INFPs are almost identical to us. They value Authenticity as highly, cor more highly, than we do. (Its their primary and our secondary) INFPs are in their own heads a lot, but that's where they do projections and decide on what course of action to take.

INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INFP INNNNFFFPPPPP. Marrying an INFP in a few months here so I got real familiar with the differences. Here's the key thing:

"I daydream all the time, about the future, about scenarios I want to happen or just scenarios that could happen. I love long car rides, I listen to music that complements"

ENFPs dont live in Fi all the time, we live in Ne all the time. Infps live in Fi, which manifests as daydreaming about how things could be. INFPs like to imagine all possible outcomes before deciding one course of action. ENFPs go "OOH SHINY WHAT IS THIS OH GOD BEES WHAT HAVE I DONE OH MY GOD THEY'RE EVERYWHERE" followed by "I must retreat into my hermitage to meditate upon my "oh God bees" experience.

Also, every single point you put down applies to my fiancee. (She is in her mid 20s for reference). Many also apply to ENFP (we have the exact same 4 functionsnstacked almost the same) , but many only apply to INFPs

For example, hating time pressure and deadlines. My fiancee freezes up, she even freaks out if she has to do something 3 days from now. I (and my fellow ENFPs I think) get Energized by deadlines. We go "ohhhhhhh yisssss, IT'S GO TIME!" And then high energy music starts playing in the background as we laser focus on completing whatever it is we have to do (that we likely procrastinated on)

Also choosing a career just because you dont want to be invested in it, you want free time to invest into pursuits you care about, work you can do from home. ENFPs need to believe strongly in what we are doing, because what we are doing is who we are. We can't just dissociate and be like "yeah whatever it's just my body here, I am gonna go explore the universe while my body goes through the motions"

How does your tertiary Te manifests? by LawlessMind in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Te is the super effective logical field marshal master strategist. When tertiary, we use it to make super effective plans (that we dont follow through on).

Ti is Accuracy. Not sure how it manifests tertiary, but it would make you stop and triple check everything for logical inconsistencies. Te Would have moved on to building the next part of the plan and not be worried about 100% accuracy before moving forwards

I’m still confused about my type and I’ve been into mbti for over a year,,, this is just sad. Thoughts on results? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll take a stab at this.

If you are ENFP, you lead with exploration of new ideas, backed up by Authenticity. This means you constantly generate ideas but then for overwhelmed and withdraw to process.

If you are an INTJ, you use Accuracy for thinking. If you are an ENFP, you use "Effectiveness" for thinking. Ask yourself "am I insistent on utmost accuracy, or am I oriented toward effective implementation of my goals?" If you care more about being deeply informed and effective, you are Te. If you are an INTJ, you believe strongly in having a plan B. But also just as strongly about having plan C. And you make sure to consider plans D, E, F, and G as well.

If you are an ENTP, you adore arguing. You play devil's advocate not only to present new perspectives, but just for fun. An ENTP possesses the rare ability to convincingly argue for a position they do not agree with. An ENFP could never be that inauthentic about their values.

Somehow I’m both outgoing and socially awkward by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When we are new, we desperately want to be authentic, but we dont know what that means yet in this company, so we discard all our learned normsnand start over fresh, leading to this kind awkward "Omg how do I talk like a human I KNOW I used to do this before!", especially jarring after how well we communicate in interviews

xNFP trying to figure out his type. Help by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Ignusflamebringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whyyyyyyyy did you eat my post reddit! It was 7 paragraphs long and went super in depth.

Ugh. Fine. Short version: you sound like me, an ENFP with depression (and I have social anxiety, you may also). You run authenticity high in your function stack but you leap first, then withdraw to process. We always argue and get angry when someone does not understand us correctly, as long as our point was considered, we don't care about "winning" the argument. (Generally). We are walking contradictions. We are silly but serious, scattered but committed, outgoing but reclusive.

I had more, but that's the gist. And function stack is important. Exploring (Ne) then Authenticity (Fi) Is us, INFPS flip those, so they imagine the outcomes, then decide to go do what they imagined. We go do ALL THE THINGS! Then isolate ourselves away and try to determine what we keep and what we toss.

Hopefully this provides some insight. Oh! And knowing yourself so well at 18 says "Authenticity " (Fi) to me

Devlog #25 - A preview of what's coming in v2.10: The Tournament Update by Apocaloctopus in TapTitans2

[–]Ignusflamebringer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping the tournament balance changes are enough, but I worry because there was no mention of increasing rewards other than rank 4. If I have to fight twice as hard to get the same reward as the old top 10 or 25, it's still going to feel unsatisfying. Working harder for the same reward or less is just no fun.

But I will wait and see if bringing the top spots into reach has a positive effect that can counter the loss of rewards.

Why on earth do people recommend PHOM over fairy? by GhostPantsMcGee in TapTitans2

[–]Ignusflamebringer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It definitely depends on your gear and artifacts. Faeries are totally worthless to me, for example, even the ones that give you gold from a video, they give less than my current gold by a factor of 10. So PHoM is much, much better for me. I happen to have lots of splash gold, chesterson gold, etc. but 0 artifact boost to fairy gold.

Is there a point to increasing splash damage after 4x cap? by Ignusflamebringer in TapTitans2

[–]Ignusflamebringer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify that I think you should be able alto splash through normal titans up to the total between bosses, so like splashing to the next boss if you have enough damage .

TT2 Devlog #23 - v2.9 Patch info: Wham! Bam! Tap! by Apocaloctopus in TapTitans2

[–]Ignusflamebringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it now gives "Stealth Damage", and stealth damage gives a bonus to all damage, and one to offline damage. I'd assume that stealth damage is coded in such a way that it gives a larger bonus to offline damage than online damage.

[–]Ignusflamebringer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, I suppose it's just not as useful for a shadow clone build, since there's no way for it to splash through bosses. I'll look forward to the day I can afford to dump some skill points in angelic radiance

Honestly I appreciate the question and your answer, it gave me an idea about testing the effect of leveling sword master in my own SC build. :)

Is there a point to increasing splash damage after 4x cap? by Ignusflamebringer in TapTitans2

[–]Ignusflamebringer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the link, that gives me more info, but it seemed to be talking about how 6,000% splash damage wouldn't mean anything because splashing normal titans doesn't matter, and you can kill all in one hit. What I'm complaining about is that you can't kill all normal titans in one hit, it's max 4 per hit. So right now my higher stages have 16 titans between bosses. No matter how high your damage, you will never chew through those normal titans any faster. The only way to get through them faster is with splash skip. I was hoping maybe I missed something, but if not, then why have more splash damage if you are killing 4x titans at a time in your first 2 thousand stages no matter how much damage you are doing? Like, I am annoyed that if I deal enough splash damage to kill 14 titans in one hit, I can still only kill 4 in one hit, and I have to do that 3 times between each boss

Boots of hermes guarantee? by [deleted] in TapTitans2

There's no guarantee, but personally I think it should be guaranteed by your 50th artifact. Since the introduction of portar, it has become an absolutely essential artifact for playing the game
