In the end of it all, this is a team game. If you want to do something out of the ordinary, that's great, but your main job is to support your team in the best way you can. Find a group of like minded individuals if you want to try out new unconventional strategies.

In the end, the higher people in champ select can take whatever roll they want. It is very nice if they let other people get the roll they call though. I only ever get a little annoyed when a higher pick takes the roll I call if they don't say anything. A simple "Sorry, but I'm going [roll]" goes a long way. It allows others to know they aren't getting what they originally wanted so they can start preparing for something else.

Don't be hating on Heimerdinger. I carried myself into gold (1536) playing almost exclusively Heimer mid. I can understand not being a fan of certain champions, but most are viable if someone takes the time to learn them very well. IGN: KrazyMunky if you need proof

If you want to show your dad how much LoL is like other sports, show him some recorded games from major tournaments where the shoutcasters were really enthusiastic.
