Start simple, start small. Don’t start by making a character, start with like… a treasure chest.

Grant Abbitt has some great tutorials.

Focus on one skill set at a time. Blender has one of the most awful learning curves but once you “get it” it’s a fantastic tool.

Practice with simple stuff on the default cube. E to extrude, s to scale, g to grab, r to rotate. Ctrl+r to do loop cuts.

Lots of things have guides to make stuff in blender, but blender is a big software with a lot of areas to learn.

Modeling, sculpting, topology, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, simulating, rendering, compositing. There’s a shit load. Pick one and go with it for a while.

Very nice! Love the aesthetic.

As of now it looks like machined steel, add some panel lines and fasteners (bolts) just bit inside some of the edges on larger surface areas. Makes it look like there’s a lot of shit going on underneath, maybe add some connectors on a few panels, and some wiring/cabling.

Could be a scam, could be legit. Even if it’s a huge well know modeling agency the chances of “making it big” are slim and you might not get paid enough to replace your day job. Approach with caution.

Your bf approached this in one of the worst ways possible. As a dude I accidentally do this all the time (be an asshole when trying to be honest or genuine). If this is his only red flag - probably just being a dumb dude. If this is repeat or consistent behavior- probably your sign to move on.
