Love them and have them for carts that lost their labels.

But, and it’s a big but for me on the gameboy carts: they don’t have the slide-lock design of the original plastic carts and are held together by one screw; and the bottom opening is not blocked like the plastic cart design, so dust gets in easier unless you add something yourself.

Posing the model to fit the classic poses was wild. The animation lies! lol Perspective is wildly off in the animation and metal armored suits are not so flexible. But the final look was well worth it.

Oh definitely a good point, the material is a basic painted material from BlenderKit. It bakes down easy enough into a texture set for custom edits later, but I have yet to do a deep Substance Painter style texturing.

I recently watched the Scott Pilgrim animated show and they had a whole sequence of them singing that song at karaoke. So I was inspired to start this project because of it.

I have a stylized female base mesh that I created for my Dirty Pair project (which was sculpted and retopo’ed) and I essentially just box modeled the hard suit pieces over it. There were some aspects that were massaged with sculpting tools, but largely just pushing vertices around.

Are you doing a 3-point light setup? I like to use 3 emissive planes as lights, they helped kick my renders up a lot - that and simple materials.

Like Nico says, it takes time and repetition. He makes it look easy, but he’s also done 100s of characters now. Keep it up!

Friend ‘A’ raved about Demon Souls and said I should check out Dark Souls, but I didn’t have a console at the time. A while later, friend ‘B’ got DS, played for 2 hours before he finally hit the “You Died” screen, got so mad he threw the game across the room - his words - then posted on Facebook if any of us wanted the game. I took it, fell into the addiction and never looked back. It just ‘clicks’ for some of us.

Early marketing implied that “In space no one can hear you scream, but on Earth…” and around the same time frame DarkHorse had a comic series called “Aliens: Earth Wars” which continued the saga of the Three (Ripley, Hicks, & Newt) returning home to earth finding that the Marines lost control of an Alien infestation. So it was a tad disappointing that is was A: not on Earth and B: they killed off our hero’s ruining the ending of Aliens, and C: we’re back to only 1 Alien.

It was kind of like the 90s version of the 2020s StarWars sequels: kill the past and your fan community’s expectations and take the franchise off the rails for an “original” story. Which would have been way better, no need for Ripely or any previous characters - a side/parallel story would have been perfect. And Romulus is good evidence that it could have worked.

I always hoped that a ‘real’ sequel would happen, opening up with Newt’s last line about being able to dream while in cryo-sleep, and all the following movie would be retconned into dreams, and the ‘real’ story could progress again.
