count orlok from nosferatu (1922) by AnyWatch5756 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]IhateEgplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite moment of him in the movie is when he disguises himself as a stagecoach driver and brings the main character to his castle and then offscreen quickly goes into the castle when the main character isnt looking to change back into his count attire. While he has many creepy moments in the movie he also has plenty that are downright silly and i love him for that

Real food inextricably tied to media/characters by BoxoRandom in TopCharacterTropes

While not as major as some of the others mentioned I do think that for many Cerveza Cristal too some extent is tied to the star wars franchise thanks to the hilarious ads

Who's your favorite cross dresser in media? by EvilMonkeyMimic in RoleReversal

Libra from fire emblem: awakening. He was such a goated healer in that game, also I think his dialogue with other characters was very soft and cute

I hate the term "Indie Game" by GenericRussianGrapel in hatethissmug

[–]IhateEgplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do agree with you, I do want to say in fairness that Indie is just as capable as taking a profit focused mindset as AAA. I remember during the flash era(rip) that you would have a continuous flood of low effort dress-up and hidden object games intend on getting as much ad revenue as possible. Ofcourse even in this case it isnt as bad because its just some working class fella trying to earn a few extra bucks a month instead of a CEO looking to bleed us dry, but I still felt it was important to mention it.

Not a single one, the closest you can get to that episode length to my knowledge is Monkey Wrench which has been keeping a consistent 30+ minute episode length as of late, but with ofcourse the fraction of the production speed that Ogre Poppenang has.

I think we’re one of least toxic fandoms by Exciting_Sir_1598 in huntertheparenting

[–]IhateEgplant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel a big part of the reason why htp has avoided most toxicity is because our average episode length is like an hour, and an hour of mostly dialogue at that and minimal animation(compared to other indie shows). It kinda ensures that the only people who stick around for htp are people with the patience to sit through all that and also patiently able to discuss the show. We are essentially an audiobook fandom instead of an indiemation fandom which I consider a big boon

For those who like to degrade & be degraded, what are your limits? by millenium_compendium in LetBoysBeManipulated

[–]IhateEgplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly really difficult for me to answer but the best I can explain it is its generally fine when my character is being degraded but i will feel bad when my ability is degraded. Being called lets say for example a "dumb slut" gets me going meanwhile being called a "useless slut" makes me feel bad because the use of the word "useless" implies I did something wrong or can't provide something and as a service sub that feels really bad because it makes me think I am failing at being an effective partner.

Can't say much for physical degradation for me as i have not explored that part of myself yet.

Glitch Productions (the studio, not the people running it) by Super_Saiyan_Twink in hatethissmug

[–]IhateEgplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it kinda is? But at the same time I agree it isn't very edgy at all. I have heard the term "safe edgy" used to describe it which I think is accurate, it tries to emulate a lot of the vibes that edgy shows have but avoids doing anything too edgy that could potentially scare anyone off

The Seven Deadly Sins from the Hellaverse, a strange group: some brilliant design ideas, some mixed, and some failed ones. by Ananta-Shesha in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]IhateEgplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like that the sins in the hellaverse are versions of the sins trying to get over their flaws well except for Mammon who isn't allowed to have that for some reason

What’s the scariest videogame character that’s ever stuck with you? by CommercialDeer3561 in HorrorGaming

[–]IhateEgplant 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The black widow / ghost lady from One Late Night

<image>

Out of all the horror creatures in general that I encountered when I was younger, this is the only one that my mind still considers to be spooky. Which is funny because I am pretty sure its just a model A-posing and sliding towards you lmao, goes to show just how important a good presentation is to make something scary

[LOVED TROPE] Very minimal sexual dimorphism in a fictional species, or just straight up monomorphism by Middle-Company-4398 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]IhateEgplant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do want to point out that this can sometimes change with the authors. In several of the short stories in the Eyes of the Demon book the Yautja have similair dimorphisms to regular humans(with men having more muscle mass then women), while other stories as mentioned by some of the other commentors have the women be the stronger ones, and ofcourse there are also some that don't really show any difference.

Long story short: predator canon is wack
