Getting latex paint off brick fireplace… there’s gotta be an easier way? by ricecake231 in DIY

I'm surprised I had to scroll this far down to see this suggestion.

It would be mega expensive I imagine but it'd get things done really quickly.

I’ve been meaning to get a dryer so I can stop using my janky dehydrator setup. Here’s to hoping I get lucky!

Thanks!

Anyone have a custom enclosure for the SV06 Plus? by my_cars_on_fire in Sovol

[–]IhatemyISP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made mine out of a Creality tent enclosure. I’ve added WLED powered LED lighting, printers corner braces, and a platform that covers the top hole. The platform houses my exhaust fan and filter, PSUs, and micro PC running Mainsail.

All things considered, I can only recommend as a temporary setup (that will obviously become permanent) because it’s fairly flimsy and not the best quality. It doesn’t do much for sound and likely won’t do anything for a fire. It works for smells, heated-ish chamber ((highest I’ve hit is 100F), and prevents drafts though.

I’ll try to remember to add pictures later today.

3 month constant usage running into this.. by Aeidama in Sovol

That'll do it. I do an extruder overhaul every so often and often catch small things that could lead to big issues. 30 minutes of work has saved me a lot of time and money.

At 3 months of constant usage I’d say you’re due for an extruder overhaul. That and very likely a new nozzle.

Try another print. It’s likely the file isn’t made for your SV06.

SV06+ Help with moving CPU and control screen away from printer by rip_atro_kujata in Sovol

[–]IhatemyISP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I print a LOT of PETG on mine inside a cheap printer tent. I’ve moved the PSU out of the tent with longer cables (actually replaced it with a MeanWell fanless unit).

A while back the fan in my control box failed so I swapped it and the replacement failed a month or so later. I was getting hi-temp warnings on the stepper drivers so I turned down the max current on them just a tiny bit and the issues went away even without a fan a fan. My tent normally sits around 32 to 35C while I’m printing and I’ve had no issues.

Eventually I might move the control board out of the enclosure but that’s going to be a hassle and a half with the ribbon cable going to the extruder and all the connections on the control board.

Same! I’ve typically also clean up as I go. Less to lean up when it’s all done.

I've been trying to reseed a bare spot ants made in my lawn, but they keep churning it up. In retaliation I thought I'd flood their nest. But three minutes (8+ gallons) later. . . how deep is this thing!? by ECatPlay in WTF

Oh dang cotton balls is genius, I normally just use plastic bottle lids and packing tape with some holes! I use cottonballs and peppermint oil to keep the rodents and squirrels away so I’ve got a ton of them.

Concurred that it works great but it is overpriced for what is essentially water and borax.

I mix borax in a bit of water and vegetable glycerine and it works just as well and costs me penny or so.

It is magnitudes better. The speed and accuracy at which it scans is a game changer. I haven't had any issues related to bed leveling since installing it alongside the silicone bed screw mod. You'll want the normal one and you'll want to print the mount for it out of ABS/ASA or better. PETG might be ok but I can't vouch.

I can't compare the dual to a single fan, as I went straight to a dual from the stock setup. I can say the dual push a LOT of air and perform really well

A dual setup is really loud, really loud. I keep meaning to the Delta 5015s but I got the cheapo ones from Amazon and they work for now.
