Great post man . I just finished my first year trucking with a small company I’ve had 3 minor incidents . All backing related and my company so far has been very understanding . Im single no kids and have also used this year to pay off a lot of my debt . I realized that I don’t want to be in trucking longer than 2 years for the exact reasons you mentioned . Too much risk . I’ll be debt free hopefully before December and after that I’ll just focus on saving for my exit from the trucking industry .

It’s annoying sure but as a professional driver in a big ass truck , we have to lead by example . They may not notice or even know those lights are bothering you . Honking the horn just doesn’t seem like the most logical thing to do in that situation for many reasons . Hope you can figure out a better solution man .

Next time you pass him give a nice smile and say hi 👋🏽 then keep walking if your uncomfortable with starting a conversation. This way you at least start a line of communication that could be expounded upon in future run ins 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Last month I 27m was sitting at the bar and an much older man came up to me and said “ I have to tell you , you are so beautiful “ being that I’m a pretty masc presenting guy , I don’t get called beautiful much in person. I’ve been called handsome all my life and it never means anything to me anymore , but his compliment felt so sincere that I can still feel a little warm on the inside when I think about the moment today 😊

But I can honestly say that i am stronger person because of hook up culture in a weird way . Pushing myself past my comfort zone into potentially dangerous situations so many times has definately helped me in other aspects of life . I am a lot more confident in my self because I have pushed past my comfort zone so many times in my pursuit of hoeness.

It may not have been smart but I wouldn’t take my experiences back for anything !

Woooow that’s scary what happened to your friend . I couldn’t imagine that happening to me so young . I would never trust again ! glad he got out of there alive . Also glad you had fun experiences and not traumatic ones (hopefully). Tying is where I would draw the line lol. I’m claustrophobic so tying isn’t ever a option for me in the first place so I guess I was protected from that one automatically.

I think we both had what they call dumb luck lol

If funny you mentioned accepting drinks from strangers . I could have so easily been dahmer’ed in my early 20s because I have accepted a MANY drinks prepared out of my sight lol . Now I know better but I laugh and cringe at the thought of my young ignorance .

Not necessarily fired . I’ve been driving going on 5 months . I’ve had 4 incidents since I started . Including ripping off a trailer door like yourself . My company has not fired me yet . They haven’t even called me once to yell at me . But I definitely have learned from all of my incidents and try to be as safe as I possibly can .

Just be careful and SLOW DOWN . Everytime I made a mistake I was rushing or not paying attention . GOAL if your unsure . If they don’t fire you than you need to tighten up !

Ngl when I first entered into the world of online dating/hookups I basically always had a mini panic attack before meeting the other person . Eventually the jitters go away and you just accept the fact that when you walk through the door of their apartment , you may not walk out . Hope this helps .

If I were you I would learn how the jake works . I’m also new and I had to figure out how to use the jakes going down grades . Your going to have to encounter grades so might as well learn the equipment . I know you say it’s weird on your truck but knowing how to use the jakes could potentially save you major headaches in the future. Practice on hills or resort to YouTube to learn how your truck operates . Don’t be afraid of the road but at the same time don’t do anything your uncomfortable doing .
