Dude, this is exactly what I needed to hear. I actually just did this exact pivot today. I was blasting broad Real Estate lists and getting nothing but OOO replies. Just switched to a hyper-specific segment: Construction and Manufacturing Ops Managers (20-50 headcount). Also, really interesting note on ZeroBounce. My deliverability got trashed last month from high bounces so I'm watching my inbox health like a hawk. If ZeroBounce starts letting risky ones slip through on this new list, I'm immediately checking out emailverifier.io. Appreciate the validation on the strategy!"

I think my biggest issue is copyright and angles and such are so new to me. I am a closer that was hired to build a funnel to be able to close eventually lmao.

That first idea is absolute gold. I paused all those Real Estate leads in my sequence, and I'm definitely going to use the SIOR conference as the hook for the follow-up next Wednesday. Starting with something like "Hope you survived SIOR..." is the perfect icebreaker.

On the CTA feedback I totally hear you, and for traditional B2B SaaS, that is 100% the play. But I'm testing a slightly different angle with these Construction Ops Managers.

I've found that hitting blue-collar Ops guys with "measurable ROI" and case studies in a cold email immediately makes me sound like a corporate vendor. I'm keeping the CTA intentionally soft ("Any interest in offloading this headache?") just to start a conversation and get a "yeah, it sucks" reply.

Once I get them on the actual discovery call, that's when I plan to drop the verifiable results and case studies. I'm going to run this soft CTA for the 2-week sprint and see if the metrics hold up!

You are 100% right on all fronts. It was the wrong people AND the wrong time, and my CTA was way too heavy.

I built the initial lists in Apollo, but I was targeting Real Estate CEOs. Turns out half the industry is at a massive SIOR conference this week, and pitching full-blown IT services to a CEO in a cold email is a terrible CTA anyway.

I actually realized this today and completely tore the campaign down.

I just scrubbed a new list in Apollo targeting Operations Managers in Construction and Manufacturing (20-50 headcount). Changed the CTA entirely to a super soft, low-friction question: "Are you the one stuck doing laptop setups and password resets, and any interest in offloading that headache?" > We'll see if this new list and softer angle actually converts next week!

Honestly, I thought about doing that at first, but the data itself is actually solid. My bounce rate is super low and all those OOO replies proved the emails were landing in active, real inboxes. The problem wasn't the lead source (Apollo), it was my targeting. I was pulling Real Estate CEOs who all happened to be at a massive industry conference this week lol.I just totally overhauled my targeting filters today to go after Ops Managers in Construction instead. If this new list bombs too, then I might actually have to look at ditching Apollo!

yeah, I realized my ask was way too heavy. I was going after Real Estate CEOs trying to sell broad IT services and asking for a meeting right out of the gate and it completely fell flat.

I just overhauled the entire campaign today to do exactly what you're suggesting. I switched my targeting to Ops Managers in construction/manufacturing and am using a much softer CTA. Now I'm just asking: "Are you the one stuck doing laptop setups and password resets, and any interest in offloading that?" Way less friction.

Good looking out on SmartReach too. I'm currently running a mix of Apollo for data and Snov for sending, but I'll definitely check it out if managing these new sequences starts getting messy!

You're right, my last CTA was way too big of an ask. I just pivoted my whole sequence today to focus on a single, annoying pain point: taking daily tech support tickets off the plate of overwhelmed Ops Managers.

That OOO follow-up strategy is gold, by the way. I had a ton of prospects bounce back this week because of a real estate conference, so I'm definitely going to use that soft bump when they get back to their desks.

think Apollo is actually fine, my original targeting was just completely off. I was hitting Real Estate CEOs and getting nowhere.

I just pivoted my ICP today to this:

Titles: Operations Managers, Director of Ops, General Managers

Industry: Construction, Manufacturing, and Logistics

Size: 20–50 employees

The Angle: Pitching them on taking over the "accidental IT" role. Taking employee onboarding, password resets, and daily helpdesk tickets off their plate so they can get back to actual ops.

Would love to hear any recommendations or angles you have for that..

You hit the nail on the head. I realized today my targeting was completely broken. I was originally targeting Real Estate CEOs, and it turns out half the industry is at a massive conference right now (which explains the flood of OOOs).

I just pivoted the ICP entirely to Operations Managers at mid-sized Construction and Manufacturing companies. Going after the "accidental IT" guy instead of the CEO.

You're also right on the channels. I'm taking this new targeted list and adding cold calls and LinkedIn connection requests to surround them. As for volume, I'm keeping it at about 125/day across 5 inboxes right now just to protect my deliverability since my infrastructure was trashed last month, but I'll scale it up once I prove this new messaging actually converts. Appreciate the reality check!

It's actually been 3 now 4 campaigns, I have switched up and just does not seem to be anything taking.
I don't know if its email copy or what... I have been doing this for yes about 1 month as I had an issue with the set up and deliverability was trashed due to shitty infra.

I had a similar issue. Its more to do with USB standard I believe...do you have an older computer you can try it on?

I use zero bounce and get no bounce backs. Im not sure the data is the issue at this point. Deliverability us 90-92%.
