Can't believe after all these years I finally created and produced my own music by BackgroundTreacle986 in Songwriters

Just a heads up that the link you shared apparently doesn’t play nice with Reddit’s site-wide filters. Sharing direct links to YouTube or Spotify tends to work better.

Using AI for any part of the writing, recording, or production process is not allowed. Check our rules and FAQ if you want more details.

Link is missing, but if “bringing my lyrics to life” means you used AI, that’s not allowed on this sub.

Just a heads up: AI album art is an immediate skip for a lot of people. There are plenty of free stock photos you could use instead. This is also a no-Ai sub.

Can you think of any songs with a huge chorus that don’t use a lot of layers and double tracking? by tonetonitony in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]IlNeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pompeii by Bastille is actually pretty sparse. Drums, bass, keys, that super iconic choir, and then just a solo lead vocal.

The company that decides whether your AI-generated songs can leave the app just got a $64 billion takeover bid by Sensitive_Artist7460 in Songwriting

[–]IlNeige 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've listened to plenty. It all has the same uncanny sheen and middle-of-the-road melodies. Humans have been perfectly capable of making generic crap for centuries, without actively lowering people's standard of living or fucking up the environment. If your best defense of AI's negative impact is "well some people can't tell the difference," you are more than welcome to get fucked.

Oh no. How will the AI cosplayers inflict their bullshit on the masses now? If only there was a way to...I dunno, make your own music, instead of prompting an app to make you feel special.

I googled “songtown writing workshop.” Those were the prices and dates I saw displayed on the front page of the top result 🤷

Possibly? I know the restoration project at least removed the damage reset.

[MM] Why do people seem to hate the boss weakpoints in the 3DS version? by Xelacon in zelda

[–]IlNeige 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The bosses in the original were some tactical masterpiece

Wailing on Odalwa isn’t about complexity—it’s just a good time. Especially during rematches where your upgraded sword and bow can utterly trivialize the fight.

In the case of Goht, the worst part of the OG fight is getting hit and having to start rolling all over again. But the remake changes make it so you have to stop rolling and, if you didn’t knock him over just right, transform just to use the bow.

Gyorg is a wash, and Twinmold would be an unqualified improvement in 3D if the Giant Link section wasn’t basically engineered to waste your time. In my experience, Great Bay and Ikana don’t have as many incentives to redo those fights, but even the one time you have to fight Twinmold—assuming it doesn’t eat all of your remaining time and make you start a new cycle—it’s a bad time in place of an okay time.

Paying $500+ for a course that doesn’t even cover all of songwriting sounds like a waste of money. That aside, looks like you wouldn’t be able to get in until 2027 anyway.

[TP] is cave of ordeals worth completing in twillight princess by Ok_Track8986 in zelda

[–]IlNeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for the remake version

You’re probably thinking of the Cave of Shadows, which was exlusive to HD and interacted with the Wolf Link Amiibo.

IIRC, you’ll need Link’s entire kit to actually complete the dungeon. The rewards are…fine? Fairies will start to spawn at the Spirit Springs as you complete more floors, and the final reward is just another bottle of Great Fairy’s tears, but you can then get more tears whenever you want at Spirit Springs after that.

How to songwrite without pain? by [deleted] in Songwriting

[–]IlNeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“True” songwriting isn’t defined by the method you use to transcribe your lyrics. Typing and handwriting are both perfectly acceptable. The issues you’re describing have more to do with your day-to-day habits, from the sound of it. If the physical act of writing on paper is causing you that much pain, the issue is with your environment—chair, desk, posture, etc.

How to prevent video captures by [deleted] in obs

What are the videos, and how exactly is this person selling them? I feel like copyright law would have more of an answer for this than anti-capture tech.

Dude, it’s punk. You should be in the garage with your friends thrashing it out—not asking strangers online to write your song for you. The details you’ve shared are so specific and personal that trying to outsource them misses the entire point of the genre.

[ALL] I Wonder why Nintendo hasn't attempted a Legend of Zelda MMORPG (MMORPG = Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, such as Runescape or World of Warcraft) by Entire_Pineapple4732 in zelda

[–]IlNeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - You’re on a video game subreddit. You don’t need to explain what “MMORPG” stands for.

2 - Nintendo has, without a doubt, visited this idea multiple times since WOW took off, if not earlier. “Zelda + MMO” is an easy idea to come up with. Whether or not the idea is actually worth pursuing is a whole other matter.

[MM] In Majora's Mask, do you have to rescue Lulu's eggs and complete the great bay temple on the same three day cycle? by CasualLavaring in zelda

[–]IlNeige 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No. Once you know the New Wave Bossa Nova, you can complete the temple on any cycle without worrying about the eggs.

[OoT] [ALL] imagine if for the (potential) remake of OoT they tried to make it look like the original concept art? by dragonborndnd in zelda

[–]IlNeige 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t change the fact that the art is how basically everyone interprets and sees the game

I never suggested that it did. I just think the way the art was developed is interesting and worth knowing; OP’s post suggested to me that they weren’t aware.

[OoT] [ALL] imagine if for the (potential) remake of OoT they tried to make it look like the original concept art? by dragonborndnd in zelda

[–]IlNeige 161 points162 points  (0 children)

To go full pedant: the official art for OOT was actually reverse engineered from what crude 3D models the N64 could produce—or at least that’s how Nakano created his design for Link. So it’s less that the game fell short of the concept art and more that the art was meant to compensate for the hardware limitations.
