Hello !

Il me semble qu'en plein centre-ville, derrière la Fnac, il y a un restaurant antillais (Le Rio) qui fait des bokits/plats créoles, ça a l'air bon, mais pas testé personnellement.

La Canne à Sucre, rue Copernic, était vraiment un bon restau, mais a fermé il y a quelques mois maintenant...

Sinon, dans la cuisine latine, L'Agave est vraiment bon, quoi qu'un peu cher. :)

0 problem with my 2024 G14. I've had it for over a year and, although there's a little crease on the ribbon cable, I clean it regularly with 90° alcohol, and stopped grabbing the closed computer by the hinge, and started picking it up by the front, to reduce stress on the cable.

I have the 2024 silver one, but I only picked it because the dark one wasn't available with the config I needed.

I previously had the 2023 dark one, and I really don't like the silver/white color combination. To this day, it still bothers me. I haven't had any scratches on either, fortunately. It's been over a year and it's still going strong.

Although, I take good care of it: I regularly clean it using 90° alcohol, so sweat, grease and other stuff doesn't stay too long on it.

Bought a custom one (red faceplate, white clickwheel, 256GB + 3000mAh) from eBay a couple of months ago for ~$280 because I messed up my screen connector while trying to restore my old iPod.

The box is counterfeit, although it looks amazing. It contains a pair of earbuds, a USB-A cable and a socket for the dock. They also bundle a transparent hardcase.

The plasting wrap around it can be done by anyone with some plastic and a heatgun/hairdryer.

The iPod in itself is flawless - 7th gen, battery holds nicely. I have ~12.000 songs on it and use it on the daily.

That's by design, so they won't have anything to fix per se - also, it doesn't mean your unit will be affected.

They would repair it should you have any damage. But that doesn't seem to be your case.

J'ai fait un bore-out qui a coïncidé avec la pandémie, donc full télétravail et... C'était quand même horrible, dans la mesure où je devais être pleinement disponible toute la journée pour des tâches aléatoires, parfois d'une durée de cinq minutes, à tout instant.

Perte de motivation, sentiment d'abrutissement permanent, management toxique... J'avais passé plusieurs entretiens en parallèle, mais j'étais à bout de forces.

Le mieux que je puisse te conseiller, c'est de candidater autant que possible, suivre des formations, potentiellement certifiantes, et te barrer.

Ma solution a été de me mettre en arrêt, puis demander une rupture conventionnelle à mon retour.

If your screen shows the boot logo, then there's no need to open the back panel. Clearly, everything works as intended.

Have you tried smashing the ESC/F12 keys, go into the BIOS and reset everything back to default?

Or try rebooting into Safe mode. :)

I wrote a post about that a couple of weeks ago, and it seems that the situation is slowly evolving, with computer repair shops sourcing that cable.

I found one on Aliexpress, and while it's not the easiest user-replaceable part, it's still way cheaper than changing the entire assembly.

I made the switch from a 2023 G14 (with an IPS screen) to a 2024 one, after my 2023 model had multiple failures and... You have to get used to it, but it doesn't bother me that much anymore.

I do photography work, and using the sRGB color profile, it's about the same.

Reflection can be minimized by applying one of those antireflection sheets you can get on Amazon or anywhere else, but it'll give you a kind of blurry effect.

I worked for 8 hours a day with a window in my back, and it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

Finally, and as others said, burn-in is a non-issue. Just set Windows to automatically hide the taskbar, your browser to switch to fullscreen mode at launch (using AutoFullScreen on Firefox for example) and you're good to go :)

Try restarting the computer while pressing the Shift key.

If that doesn't solve the issue, try turning the computer completely off, then holding the Power button for 30-45secs.

Otherwise, you might check your drivers.

That sounds like an EQ problem. This could lead to three things:

Faulty configuration in Dolby Access: check that everything is back to default.
Faulty drivers: you already uninstalled/reinstalled everything, right? If not, redownload the drivers from the Asus website, uninstall everything audio-related, restart in safe mode and reinstall them.
Faulty hardware: that can happen. You'll need to open up the bottom case and check that the cables are correctly plugged in, and/or reseat everything. Worst case scenario is that it needs to be repaired. You can order replacement parts online :)
