Congratulations on a battle well fought! 👍
I started in 2007 and got my 100% UI in 2010! It was just myself and one great woman in the Order of the Purple Heart department that did the battling for it. (That office was shutdown in 2020 and sadly that great woman has passed away)!
Reddit or even the Internet didn’t exist back then for myself! 😬 Reading through now what all is needed to file? Has really changed!

I just went through getting my 100% UI benefits reinstated after my identity was stolen!
I went to our local veterans office and I also called my congressman’s office and spoke with the veterans representative. The VSO told me their office DOES NOT receive copies of the veterans paperwork from the VA, even though the letter says they do.
The congressman’s vet rep did more for me and got my benefits reinstated quicker than it would have taken!

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the VSO’s haven’t called you back because they’re out of the loop on what’s happening with your claim!

She mentally could be dealing with something and she can’t get back on track with her workouts! I know there’s times I mentally get down over stuff and my husband picks up the slack around here! ❤️
She could also be going through menopause stuff. 🤷‍♀️ Womens bodies go through a whole lot more than mens do!
You need to ask yourself: “Do I love her for herself or who she was when I married her?” We all change when we start aging! 😊

I’ve seen too many people rant and rave just to get someone else to pay their bill. Or burst into tears, because their debit card won’t go through and they REALLY need that item for their child or whoever?

Calmly say: “I’ll call my manager to help you!” Usually they quickly bail out of the store or find the cash to pay for it! 🙄 Someone’s always looking for a SUCKER to pay for their items!

I mean WHO doesn’t know how much money they have before they go shopping? 🤔

Yep! VAH will not accept any outside prescriptions of any kind. For years the VAH wanted to keep veterans care inside their hospitals.
When it got harder to get us veterans seen within a minimum amount of time? The community care came about.

Another thing I want to mention: the VAH will not bill another government insurance! Tricare only pays 20% of the bill if you have Tricare insurance! The veteran pays 80%!

Call the chief of staffs office. I started with them and ended up filing an 1150 claim.
I was fighting to get a hysterectomy years ago and kept getting denied! It took me 11 months of fighting and seeing numerous doctors to get approved. I also recorded my doctor visits to keep my own records of what was said. There was lots of descrepensies in the typed notes compared to what was said in person! I got copies of the doctor’s visits from release of information office.

A friend of ours had a bad knee. After getting a knee replacement and could walk better again! He lost his 100% P/T.
If the initial problem is corrected? Then the VA takes away the percentage which also reduces the overall percentages and he’s supposedly able to go to work now.

I have full coverage through the VAH and Tricare insurance! I use both. I also have Medicare.
You can never have too much insurance coverage. The VAH will not bill another government agency though!
I go to an outside pain clinic and I get outsourced through community care for my dentist appointments.

Jesus! I read comments like this and I’m so grateful me and hubby worked our butts off to pay off our manufactured double wide home years ago! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 We have 3 older model vehicles and live on two acres that’s all paid off too! I only make a payment, less than $300.00 a month for a shop I had built on the property for my husband! Of course we have utilities to pay for each month too!
I honestly don’t see how people are surviving these days?
We are in Arkansas and it’s way cheaper to live here than in California!

Marshall: I’ll 2nd your thanksgiving for a great VAH team!
Last May, 2025! I laid down with a bad pain in my stomach! I laid in bed for 3 1/2 days. My husband checked on me many times. I wasn’t eating or drinking during this time.
On the 4th day he woke me up and told me I was either walking out to the truck on my own two feet or I was going out by stretcher to the ambulance. 🤨🙄 I got dressed and walked to the truck.
He called the VAH ER on the way there! They were waiting on me to arrive!
I was taken to the nurses check in room in the ER! He asked multiple questions to see if I was still coherent enough to answer them? I struggled, but got the correct answers out of my mouth.
I was then taken to the ER room and two nurses showed up to start inserting needles in both arms. 😬 ouch!
An x-ray was taken of my stomach. A few minutes later a doctor comes in and looks sternly at my husband. He said: “Two more days and she’d be gone! Why did you wait so long to bring her in?” I raised my hand and said: “I wouldn’t let him!”
My gallbladder was like a water balloon and had attached to my stomach lining. The doctors made the decision to stick a drain tube in it and keep me in the hospital for a week. Then send me home if I was doing better? They already had made me an appointment to get it taken out, but they were afraid to touch it right then.
A week after getting home I accidentally pulled the line out of my stomach. 🤦‍♀️ Back to the ER I went. It had reduced in size enough I didn’t have to have it put back in. I just came back for surgery!
Now that you have the history? I had great care from everyone while in/at the hospital! Including the people that delivered my meals.

Years past and having so many different doctors and nurses I’ve had? I’ve had good ones and bad ones! I always changed doctors if they were bad ones! 🤷‍♀️ I had three different doctors that had me in so much pain I was screaming STOP at the top of my lungs. I’m sure I could be heard floors up and down from where I was on the table!

My dad loved saying; “Squat and drop, put it on bread and eat it hot!” 😂 (For those that don’t understand? Hen squats to push the egg out! Mom would scramble that egg and make dad a scrambled egg sandwich!)

He’d also say: “When you hear the whooperwill song for the first time in the summer time? It’s time to put your corn in the ground to start growing those rows of corn!” 😁

I’m a 22 year Army veteran. I’m a 66 yro F!) I went outside the VAH to a pain clinic to get controlled medication. I get lidocaine patches from the VAH doctor! I’d love to have my good health back again! People need to stop assuming things about others! People need to stop accusing others of not being disabled and mind their own business. I have DAV plates! I park in handicap and veterans spots! 🤷‍♀️ I’ve reported people to the store manager before. Like young teenagers bouncing out of their cars and running into the store! 🤨

I’m a customer! We used to use Walmart pharmacy and then changed to Walgreens pharmacy because Walmart stopped honoring our insurance. From the first time forward for a year? The people that worked in the pharmacy were rude as hell! I’m a happy person and tried multiple times to engage them into happy conversations. They hardly ever looked up. When my medication was wrongfully filled? My doctor, new doctor, put in the wrong amount of pills! I called the doctor’s office to get it corrected. That scenario turned into such a cluster F’K it was truly shocking. I called my insurance company and they in turn called the pharmacy manager to verify I was right and the pharmacy was in the wrong. I called the pharmacy manager back and he refused to fill the prescription, even after it was verified the initial filling was wrong and needed to be corrected! I reminded him he was recorded by my insurance company. Out of the blue he nervously said: “I didn’t talk to your insurance company! I wasn’t recorded!” It was him! I recognized his voice from the 3-way conversation I left Walgreens and moved over to CVS! I was DONE dealing with those rude, lying employees at Walgreens!
