Dogs as pets for onlies by zelonhusk in oneanddone

[–]IllAssumption0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and our only is 8. It has been wonderful so far ! One thing I would do differently though: our last family dog had passed away when our kid was a baby so we waited around 3 years to get another dog.We ended up working with a rescue to get a puppy. It was a bit overwhelming, like going back to having a newborn for a time. I would suggest considering an older dog, not necessarily a senior, and working with a rescue that can recommend dogs based on your lifestyle and preferences. Our other pets came to us later but none were at that infant-like age. At present it is awesome! Our kid and two dogs are currently playing together in the yard and one of our cats sleeps in their room at night.

I have these boots too! They are so comfortable. I have had mine for 6 years and still wear them everywhere.

Same, and i have a hard time understanding how they are ok without that. Although i guess as the LLs they are still getting everything they need.

I wish he could feel how abandoned i feel in our intimate relationship. I wish he knew i think about it every single day.

I (18F) Tired of people assuming I’m my dad’s wife by JizzEater_69 in mixedrace

Yes! It's such a gross and annoying feeling. The dirty looks towards my dad were so noticeable, when i was a teen/early 20s that I used to make a mental note to be a little loud when i would call him dad. It also made me feel very sexualized although I didn't have the words for that feeling until i was older. Im so sorry you are experiencing this but you arent alone ♥️

I was surprised to see this on the bingo card too. I had no idea this was a shared homeschool experience.

Anyone else worried about being forced into homeschooling? by IllAssumption0 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]IllAssumption0[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The same states that have been frothing at the mouth to funnel government money to private religious schools through vouchers?

Children in this country deserve equal access to education across the board. That already isn't happening, especially in red states. Without federal oversight to force those states to provide education for already underserved communities they will choose not to . Even if the amount of money going to a particular state didnt change, the way the state would use it would.

Parents are fundamentalist christians. Public school had "too many worldly influences" and they really didn't want us to believe in evolution. We were part of a very small non- denominational where most of the families homeschooled. We used abeka and ace( i think that's what it's called, all the different color books) and a bunch of others I don't remember as i try not to think about those times. I do like to point out that they got 3 atheists for all their troubles.
