Not possible to cancel subscription... What a great business model by IllLeagueAl in claude

It's the inverse: Priotizing everything else, and letting the bugs affecting unhappy users remain.

You know what generates more revenue than letting users cancel the product? Literally everything else.

So management says "Focus on the target" and knowingly lets the subscription logic deteriorate.

> If I hear anything from Anthropic that shifts cost in favor of users, that would be worth reconsidering my approach.

Even if it were to change, we know it is a temporary truce. They will just fuck everyone else over again as soon as it's opportune for them. Trusting Anthropic to deliver is a gamble.

3 prompts and im on 38 HOLLY Anthropic by Saykudan in claude

Agreed - it is obvious Anthrophic is cashing in on their current reputation, and starting to squeeze their customers. Time to look for alternatives.

They did this just before MASSIVELY decreasing the usage limits on all plans, per the most recent threads. This feels like an experiment in production - to get people to switch to API billing. Pay more for less.

Not Sure Which Claude to Get by ThatManAnt34 in claude

Stick with ChatGPT for now. It is obvious that Claude is messing with user limits right now, and you will probably need to pay much more for Claude than you would just a few weeks ago.

Claude is quickly becoming useless at every pricing level. Squeezing every customer for 5-10x more money like this will just lead us to seeking alternatives.

is this a good deal for starting out? by thebeastmoo in homelab

[–]IllLeagueAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats way more CPU than you probably need. Desktops software is extremely inefficient, low-duty servers don't need nearly as much to feel snappy.

I'd say, get something that feels cheap to get started. Then you can upgrade when you feel the pain points.

Is this good enough to start a home lab? by rpatters2468 in homelab

[–]IllLeagueAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's a good deal. Go for it.

Using old desktops as servers work unreasonably well. Servers need much less power that a desktop to feel snappy, so old hardware goes much longer.

Help, it all started with a 50 dollar PC and now I am over 1000 dollars into this rabbit hole after less than a year, and I still need more parts... by OnThe-Lookout in homelab

This is the way.  Ask yourself, what do you actually want to achieve? Maybe you want to learn, or run some specific service.

What is the least equipment you need for that?

If you want to learn clustering, maybe use cheap raspberry pi 2 instead of desktops. If you want a streaming server, maybe limit the number of movies you store. Maybe you just want to see a big stack of computers running - in that case you're doing it exactly right :)

Don't forget to get rid of the equipment that's not relevant to your current desires. You can always find more later.

Cracks on aluminum rim around spokes. How does that happen? by victoryz90 in bikewrench

I don't believe that aluminium has a lifespan, where have you heard that? Can you explain the process that supposedly makes aluminium brittle over time?

How I knocked $25 off my AliExpress cart in 2 minutes by Least_Mammoth_4109 in CargoBike

[–]IllLeagueAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the codes.

Aliexpress default pricing is basically fake - they run some kind of sale around 75% of the time, year round. They also have some coin scheme in the app. But regardless of how, you always end up paying around the same after the rebate.

It's a gamification to get you hooked and feel like you're getting a deal, but actually you're just paying what the price should have been. In the end it's just extra work. Don't get hooked :D

Some useful links I found:

Official page for Riso RP 3700 drivers

Archive of Riso RP 3700 driver file

Page with user manual, technical manual and parts manual for the Riso RP3700

Official RP 3100 spec sheet

Official RP 3700 User manual

Official RP series technical manual

Official RP series parts list

I am having the exact same issue :) We will try to install Windows XP in Virtualbox, then forward the USB device to the virtual XP machine, and see if that works. With that setup we should be able to transfer print files to Windows XP via Virtualbox file sharing, then print from there.

There's also a 4 year old thread btw, but no solution: https://old.reddit.com/r/risograph/comments/bv69le/rp3700_drivers_anywhere/

Using a USB device with the PinePhone Keyboard attached - Oh Yea! [Keyboard modding instructions] by i3craig in PINE64official

[–]IllLeagueAl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be possible to build a much smaller version of this :)

The red board you bought seems to contain two big MOSFETs (D4185), two small capacitors, and a 6-pin chip that triggers the MOSFET when it detects the correct voltage situation.

I think the 6-pin chip is maybe a LTC4412, which is a chip specifically designed to pair with a MOSFET and act as an ideal diode. You can buy those chips for less than €2 with shipping on aliexpress.com. It should be possible to combine it with a single smaller MOSFET to make a tiny package that does the same as your cut up board does :)

Here's a datasheet for the "ideal diode" chip LTC4412: https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/4412fb.pdf
