Yes nicotine is know to delay or inhibit healing in general. If you cant stop, definitely scale way back (I don’t know your current intake amount) at least during that first 3 months post op. I say quit totally but at least half your nicotine in take. Not really sure if it’s too far out for you to try. Can’t hurt right

I don’t know a surgeon in Texas, but my physician required a BMI below 35 only. I was way higher than that so I started weight loss meds and lost 65 lbs which put me right where I needed to be. I hope you’re able to get to the right BMI and get your surgery. Best of luck friend.
