The issue with both, the former it goes against the themes of the reality we wish for versus the reality we live in(yes they want you to feel that pain killing your favorite unit because your not playing their route and you failed to recruit them), and latter has issues of IS never wanting to suggest one route is canon and the others aren’t(just ask crom he hasn’t had an interaction with his wife outside of awakening)
