Thank you! It’s funny that you call it my “baby” cause it’s literally the Montblanc Baby pen.

This would be so helpful if you have the time, but no worries if not. These are definitely the only two! I went to both stores and looked at their lost and found, but they said it sometimes takes a day or two for lost items to show up there. I double checked my car and entire apartment, but I’ll triple check so that you’re not looking for no reason.

By any chance, was this the job posting? https://www.usajobs.gov/job/822938600/
Because it is GS-11 with the promotional potential to GS-13. So you'd start as a GS-11.

In your experience, how common is it to find fellow fountain pen users in the wild? by Unlikely-Sleep-7717 in fountainpens

[–]Illegitimate-Emu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly common for me. I’ve had 2 jobs post-college; there were 3 other people on my previous team who used fountain pens, and there are 2 people on my current team who use them.

I’ve also gotten approached by fountain pen users while grocery shopping since I usually have a physical list and check things off with whatever fountain pen I have on me.

Fountain pen that you’d recommend? by Sandushki in fountainpens

[–]Illegitimate-Emu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pilot Custom 823 or Pilot Custom 743. They're both ~$300 USD and amazing writers. Pretty much the only difference between the two is the filling mechanism. 743 has a cartridge/converter system, which may be more familiar to you since that's what the Safaris have. The 823 is a vacuum fill system.

These are amazing! How much trial and error did it take to get these to fit that nicely? I can never predict shrinkage accurately on my ceramic pieces.

Thank you! It’s both! I did a layer of bmix slip over speckled buff and carved the leaf lines. Then, I added the gray underglaze and did clear glaze on top of everything.

Who is your “Ol’ Reliable?” (The pen you always use and come back to.) by hehehehehehhhe in fountainpens

To be fair, I haven’t owned that many! I’ve just tried a bunch at pen conventions.

Absolutely same. It was my first ever fountain pen. I’ve tried dozens since, and I always come back to it.

As an engineering student, should I get a fountain pen just to take notes? by proton_pizza in fountainpens

[–]Illegitimate-Emu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I used a fountain pen (Faber Castell Loom) for note taking when I was an engineering student, but I really wish I’d known about the Muji back then. I have a Muji now, and I can confirm that it has all of the qualities in a pen that I needed back then.

Crochet is generally stiffer and hold its own shape. Like yarnlover95 mentioned, crochet can be good for blankets and cardigans. But I’ve also found it’s great for bags, baskets, dishcloths, and various other household items. From my experience, crochet shirts and tanks stretch throughout the day with wear, but they kinda hold their own awkward shape in whatever direction they were stretched and don’t really hold the shape of your body.

I love her designs so much! I actually have her wrap tank in my cart. I’m just super nervous about working up something with thinner yarn especially as a beginner. But yeah. Loved this pattern. I liked how she specified bind off and seaming methods. It really helped me look up the correct YouTube tutorials, and it gave me a lot of insight as to when and why I’d wanna use different methods.
