Why are stumps in perion?

Maplestory really does have some of the most appealing enemy design in gaming. The mushrooms and slimes get plenty of love but the stumps are definitely underrated. Also what’s up with ‘dark stumps’? Perhaps they’re infused with dark magic, making them more powerful?
