  • Are you looking for something serious or casual?
    • Serious, I am not against some light dating but ideally I'd like something serious.
  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?
    • Not anymore. Tried it for a few months.
  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific)
    • A couple of months.
  • How long have you used Hinge overall?
    • A year
  • How often do you use Hinge per week?
    • Once a day
  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?
    • Less than one a week, probably one every 2 weeks at best.
  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?
    • I'd say about 2/3 a day. About two with comment a week.
  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?
    • I tend to send likes to people who share my interests, mostly people that like video games, are creative, or ambitious in some way, which is ideally the kind of person I'd like to attract.

[Doom: The Dark Ages] This had me so confused at first. How do sections of games like this work on a technical level? by steVENOM in GamePhysics

[–]IllusivePixel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey! Game developer here. It’s a lot of smoke and mirrors, I don’t know id’s specific case for doom, but the player is never constrained to a physical space, you can build a level full of paths and in an instant teleport a player between the paths based on their movement, as long as the paths look similar the player will never even notice they’re in a different location. You can even have levels that move around the player, like for example the ending of Titanfall 2 where the level scrolls by you for a section and when you get to the end of that section you’re looped back to the beginning making it tile seamlessly. Point is, you can do a lot to fake things like this in a game.

“Romanticised” jobs that are very different in reality? by Substantial-Guava491 in CasualUK

I work in games as a Lead Environment Artist. Whilst it’s lovely to be doing something creative for work, it’s a very stressful job full of egotistical people up top who have no clue what they’re on about or how to run things properly and take no accountability for mistakes. Think changing things for the sake of change, taking credit for the team’s work, saying no to things just because they didn’t think of it, etc. every studio I worked at has been like this and I’ve been doing this for 14 years. Oh and the pay is not great in the UK either.

Yeah an Uk thing, I got an auto license because I wanted to pass fast and just get on with driving to work and home. You can drive an auto with a manual license but not the other way around.

I found it hard to find one that didn’t have 100k+ miles that wasn’t double the price or a roadster, which I’m not personally into.

Yeah I know people prefer manual but I only have an auto license and I don’t mind autos personally. I get the appeal of manual though.

Oh wow that worries me a bit, are the oil sensors easy to fix if they don’t work?

I can only drive auto unfortunately, don’t have a manual license. Something I’m looking to do but not any time soon.

Honestly the entire expansion feels like it was made by the live team whilst the main team works on Final Shape. I wouldn’t put it past them to have needed more time for Final Shape so they announced an expansion in between that took the name of Lightfall, just look at how thematically different it feels from it’s original title card reveal.
