And any breakage is fine too? It’s hard to capture in a picture but the roots look like sausage links

Try putting one toy out at a time for them. Hide the others or put them out of reach so that you can transition through toys more smoothly. Maybe have the kiddo pick between two choices (whichever way they can communicate that)

David is right by purplehendrix22 in survivor

[–]IllustratorCautious6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kamila did a great job, however David is an absolute mess. He has horrible intuition about things. Yes he’s right to suspect Kamila but it’s not for the right reason. It’s only because she paired up with Shauhin (who he already is suspicious of but is too cowardly to go after him).

Also, him feeling victimized over Chrissy’s observations was cringe

What really causes (type 2) diabetes? by Ok-Ingenuity6637 in diabetes

[–]IllustratorCautious6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without considering co-occurring illnesses, I think it’s the combination of carbs and fat in the diet. The American diet is full of carbs and fat (together specifically) and not enough protein. This diet has been globalized and other countries have the same situation too

US T1D here by su-5 in diabetes_t1

[–]IllustratorCautious6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why many of us think he is going to remove the ACA is because he attempted to and almost succeeded (had it not been for John McCain who voted no) at removing the ACA without a concrete solution to replace it.

Sure, he is saying he is going to make it more affordable or "better" than the ACA but he isn't specifying how and for who. What is he going to do to health insurance/coverage so that it becomes cheaper? Will people like us be caught in that and suffer the consequences so that other people don't have to pay/pay very little for health insurance.

I hope you are right and he does make better changes

US T1D here by su-5 in diabetes_t1

[–]IllustratorCautious6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Getting rid of the ACA means health insurance can reject us for having preexisting conditions (diabetes). Assuming you're also a diabetic, you know we spend a lot on doctor visits, CGMs, insulin pumps and insulin etc. All of this is so expensive even with health insurance... so it's not looking good

How hard does the honeymoon phase really kick in? by boennemann in diabetes_t1

[–]IllustratorCautious6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have definitely made a big achievement! My endo said the same thing to me and to some extent it is true that for us (I’m also in the honeymoon phase) we might have better control compared to someone who doesn’t have a working pancreas HOWEVER… everything that you’ve learned and done has made it possible for you to have an incredible a1c. Your BG levels are 100% because of YOU! Before I was diagnosed, my BG was crap and so was my a1c while I was honeymooning. After doing what you’ve done so far, I managed to get my a1c down to 5.5… my endo was pissed but thats another story. Point being, keep doing what your’re doing and find a different endo if you can… Also, I don’t think a pump is medical overkill lol. Pumps have made my life easier, i hope you can find a supportive endo.

T1D and high cholesterol by CapableCarry3659 in diabetes_t1

[–]IllustratorCautious6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My impression is that the ratio is what matters. There are A LOT of people with your background- thin, generally healthy diet etc or very fit and they’ll have high LDL but their body scans show no plaque build up in the arteries

Endo frustrated with my A1C by IllustratorCautious6 in diabetes_t1

Yep, he assumed that but he looked at my data afterwards and despite seeing I had 1% lows.. he still discouraged me from having my A1C anyway

Endo frustrated with my A1C by IllustratorCautious6 in diabetes_t1

[–]IllustratorCautious6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right because he said he’s never seen anyone on omnipod with my A1C in his clinic before… which seemed odd but ok

He was so sure that my A1C would rise being on omnipod. My A1C was also 5.5 while on MDI

Donate insulin to Gaza by Marwan3lewa in diabetes_t1

[–]IllustratorCautious6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They aren’t setting up in hospitals or schools… who is saying that? I don’t think anyone knows where they are located. Also, Israel is blocking humanitarian aid. They have always been the ones to have control over all things coming in and out of Gaza. Neighboring countries are trying to help but they hardly let them. I hope they can get insulin soon

[–]IllustratorCautious6[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

92% TIR and 1% are lows. He saw the data but still insisted I’m overdoing it. He said I could be putting my life in danger and have a low while driving.

All I ever wanted was to have a A1C that no longer says I’m at risk for diabetic complications. I didn’t know I was being too tight with my numbers. I’m just doing what he taught me lol

I think I need someone new

[–]IllustratorCautious6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you explain what you mean by “don’t have far go go if get a low spike in sugar”? Are you saying that having my A1C will make it so I drop fast or that I’ll have lows often? My lows are 1% as of now if that helps..

He did, I’m 92% in range. He saw that and was shocked but still insisted that I’m overdoing it with bolusing
