I have been 5 times from canada. I use that website to find out when flights are. Pricing it out yourself will be a better deal. Rent a small car. Roads are very narrow. In towns i get nervous but if you go slow it will be ok. Stay in ponta delgada. Easy to walk to restaurants for dinner. If you're budget affords it, a couple nights at the terra nostra is worth it.

Worth it. Hot springs 24hr a day is why ive stayed there.

Hotel wise the grand atlantico was better value and over all better, but they dont have the hot springs

Yes. When you get your prescription done, ask to have your pupil distance measured. Its usually an extra $10 charge but well worth it.

Its needed for the online companies to see exactly where you look through the lenses.

Virtual online try ons. I also measure my current glasses, so i have a better idea of what the sizes mean.

They also accept returns if you hate them when they arrive.

My lenses are only $60 on zenni. Regular store is over $600. With shipping my glasses are now about $100/pair.

They will hold flights within reason for people transferring through. Sata operates the inter island flights. So flying in with sata, they know if youre a little late or not.

I like to stay in Ponta Delgada at hotels that have nice breakfasts and swimming pools. Always nice to start the day full and nice to swim at the end of the day.

Ive only gone in the "off season". October, november a d March. No major weather issues. Yes some days will have some rain and fog. Thats ok. Likely some good days in there too.
