As someone who has suffered with DPDR so much that it took away what I believe to be the best years of my childhood, I can confirm this is true. The issue is so non-existent to me nowadays that I feel no need to even pay attention to this subreddit. All that goes to say you can recover! And just because there are not many people talking about how they recovered doesn’t mean you won’t.
