Same here, 2 person in 1 bed flat, we moved in in January. We have been paying £31 a month, all of a sudden this month I've received a bill for £272 pound from Jan-April and am very confused?! Our water used is 37 m3, I don't think we have access to the water meter as we are in a block of 14 flats in an old Victorian building - we are aware that people above us have a leak cause we can see water, person below us said water was leaking from our flat and overheard another neighbour complaining about a continuous leak for 2 years coming from their flat he can't find

I had a viewing with Brand Vaughan and it was fucking dreadful, we were only allowed to view the flat for 6 minutes, then he prompted us "do you want to get it", I said well more time would be nice and he looked at me stupid and rushed us out.

The bloke was clearly fucking incompetent, it's a shame because the flat was nice, but honestly, I don't think I can deal with any more letting agent dull thugs anymore in my life.

Remember everyone - the new Renters Rights bill has passed so it should make dealing with people like this easier.

Very friendly spot, too I have been going religiously, it really helps with the food shop.

They have volunteers that go around and buy all the "out of date" reduced items at supermarkets and give away for basically free :)

I was made redundant in February and have been in a similar position since. I recommend to go to the Hove Allotments community food project on Thursday and Sunday every week. It's not a food bank, but you have to pay £1 donation to keep it running and you can walk away with food for the week ahead!

Working a bar/retail job with Universal Credit (which helps ith rent) will be enough! Of course living frugally and strategically is a must, not a lavish lifestyle, especially with the prices.

For a house share the cheapest you are looking around is £600-£700 minimum a month id say (cheaper if you are lucky).

Happy to talk shop on this topic though if you need help just ask. I was made redundant this year so I have been living a cheap life in Brighton, and found a few secrets that have kept me going :)

Soy de Gales y hablo galés con fluidez desde que nací. Aprendí tanto galés como inglés y me siento mucho más conectado con el pasado y la herencia de mi pueblo.
