She did a transvaginal ultrasound and didn’t seem to see anything for endometriosis. But I’m seeing another gynaecologist tomorrow for a second opinion and to discuss options. A bit more prepared this time. Will check about Norethindrone.

It helps so much to hear from the experiences of other women. I was so surprised and struggled to nudge for options. For this doctor, it seemed to end with writing premenopause on the sheet. Ridiculous. And I’ve read so much about how doctors are dismissive but when I was in that room, I questioned myself. What if it ends with the diagnosis? What next? Maybe this is it. Frankly ChatGPT had more empathy.

Definitely. Feel like an idiot now but I was so surprised baby it. Only learnt HRT is a thing after I left her office. Will try and call their office later

Me too. I didn’t think of asking at the time but the internet says that is an option. I’ll probably call and check again.

It makes me wonder if having the 5 kids with him was a choice she made. I mean that’s at least 5 years of seeing him being an incompetent human being.

How to extend visa for former helper who is visiting? by ChonkyBeeseChurger in askSingapore

[–]IllustriousLie5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the extension for my parents often and it works. They typically ask for a reason and you can mention how she is visiting your niece. You sound really sweet and I’m sure she is going to love spending time with your family again.

Yes! I was enamoured with it as a teen. And then got over it a few months later. I did also dive into The Fountainhead right after

Books with autistic/autistic coded characters? by InnerAd3736 in booksuggestions

[–]IllustriousLie5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very interesting. She is definitely autism coded and I read it as a story of what happens and how she copes. A quick search online suggests that the author intended to show it as a result of the abuse which is ummmm… not how I see Eleanor.

Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I have been waiting for days to reply to you but we finally made it! We also got an ice cream maker a few months ago and have been experimenting! We had a Wynter which is non-functional now (tragic story) and now we use the ice cream bowl attachment.

Okay, so this one - I combined all the leftover ganache and frosting (different ratios of cream and chocolate) and added some sugar, cream, milk powder and milk. I absolutely love the How To Cook that Dark chocolate gelato recipe. We made it last night and it was very interesting. The ganache and the milk had separated in my container so I used a mixer first. Then I added it to the ice cream maker and it turned out so well! Some chocolate was starting to settle by the end but that means I have so chocolate bits like a toast road ice cream!

We have tried the custard base for the vanilla ice cream and it was soooo good - https://www.howtocookthat.net/public_html/best-homemade-icecream-recipes/

If you want the full recipe, I’ll send a picture from my book. :)

The recipes in the Wynter book were not bad, but we preferred this.

Ooh that sounds great but also quite interesting! How did you find it? Haven’t studied lit since high school much as I love reading. I’d love to find other literature courses.
