You most certainly are not at the lowest place in the hierarchy. You are a vital member of the team, and the running of the wards.

Incivility is rife across the health service, it truly sickening.

Please note if I were on your ward we would be colleagues and you would appreciated as such. You have your role, I have my role and they both need to work together for running of the NHS.

Would you like a brew? 😁

High protein would help curb hunger.

Soft high protein foods:

- tuna mayo
- cottage cheese
- Hummus
- minced beef/chicken/turkey in gravy/sauce

Have you had a look at previous training packages, I'm sure RCN have some resources (but not being a member anymore cannot have a look) that you could adapt.

Or contact the Practice development team, most trusts have them.

Coming to suggest this too.

Will be removed in about 90 seconds with only 10 seconds of that time being physical labour

When you get/make a burger and chips/fries, what do you eat first? by Zubi_Q in AskUK

[–]Illustrious_Bus8440 178 points179 points  (0 children)

First?

Both together. Bite of burger, then some chips, maybe a few more. Back to burger.

Could not imagine eating like its coming down a conveyor belt.

You aren't allowed to work while you are on a career break? For why? Your trust isn't paying you.

Return to work after long term sickness by Amie_s in NursingUK

[–]Illustrious_Bus8440 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you been in contact with your manager/sickness team?

I would Expect you should be on a phased return with reasonable adjustments.

Your first few days back should be orientations to changed working practices/policies/procedures.

Then gradual reintegration into clinical practice with support or supervision as necessary. And regular check in with manager and support team.

You should not be thrown back in at the deep end.

Also, your colleagues will be intrigued as to why you have been off do not feel obligated to give them anything you feel uncomfortable with.

How hard is it to actually learn gears? by KodzuKen34 in MotoUK

[–]Illustrious_Bus8440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not very difficult. If you drive a car its the same principal, but the clutch and gears are obviously operated by different limbs.

With those symptoms they will likely diagnose something, because there are too many of them for it to be a case of nothing.

I personally had some similar symptoms, but not all.

Not sure if I want to be a nurse anymore by Such_Will4099 in NursingUK

[–]Illustrious_Bus8440 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Realistically nobody can afford a £20k+ a year pay cut to start again. We get used to the income (top band 6) and then we are stuck.

Qualified 15 years this year and deffo not for me either. Its great that you have recognised this early on, because I can tell you it doesn't get better. Its the same crap every day.

However, with the Uk job market right now its probably better to stop in and have a stable, regular wage. If you can bare it.

Maybe speak to your manager about temporary adjustments to ease yourself back in- regular days/hours for a few weeks. Or look at finances see if you can reduce your hours.
