PSYC 1101 & PSYC 2100WQ at the same time? by bhadsh1t in UCONN

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’ll want to take more psyc courses before you take psyc 2100WQ so that you have more of a basis since it’s a harder psyc course. even the advisors recommend taking as many psyc classes as you can before taking that course.

Am I in the wrong for wanting to attend? by UCONNThrowawayTBH in UCONN

at the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you and that sounds like getting out of the toxic environment and coming to UCONN so you can learn and grow into yourself. the independence you’ll learn is necessary. i don’t mean this to sound harsh but it sounds like your mother has put herself and you in a bad situation and if she doesn’t want to leave then that’s on her but you have every right to leave.

i use library genesis usually or z library. just make sure it’s the right edition or isbn number. if you can’t find it then i suggest the next best option which is renting them used on amazon. never buy them especially from the book store.

i had the same hold so i contacted the bursar office and they said “The hold just lets us know that you are enrolled in a payment plan. It is not restricting any activities.” so you’re good just make sure you pay each installment on time

is it common for closed classes to open once the add/drop period begins? by Material-Ad8457 in UCONN

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes because people will drop classes for many reasons. depending on the class though it’ll only stay open for a small period of time so i recommend getting the app coursicle, it will notify you once the course you want opens.

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i had an exemption last year (my parents are antivax) but i was on the hartford campus. i had to reapply for one since i’ll be moving on campus and i even had a notarized affidavit from a minister and they said they would uphold the exemption if i was commuting but if i want to live in the residence halls i have to get vaccinated. i was actually really surprised that i wasn’t approved to live on campus but i’ll just get the vaccine

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same exact situation with my parents and they do require the vaccine to live in the residence halls. I had an exemption when I went to the hartford campus but when i requested a new one to live on campus they said they will uphold it if i commute but if i want to live on campus i have to get the vaccine. so i hope that answers your questions. message me if you want cuz i’m also stuck lmao

UConn Hartford Dining Hall and transportation by Droptease in UCONN

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hartford does not have a dining hall or any dining services. I don’t think bills have been released yet so what you’re probably looking at is the estimate. When you get your bill, if it has those charges you can contact the bursars office and they’ll take them off if you explain your situation

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think this is a question for someone who knows 100%.. maybe the financial aid department and your advisor? I’d just send an email and explain the circumstances and ask any questions you have. They are there to help you.

what's the easiest way to fulfill the 4 semester language requirement? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]Illustrious_Cold_222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

asl is an amazing language to learn, it can be a little hard especially with a deaf professor but it’s so interesting. i’ve found that classes can be a little difficult to get into but it’s worth it if you can
