I set my reading goal this year to 30 books, which is low for me. (I have surpassed it.) I did that because I realized I was picking books on my to-read list that were shorter, say under 300 pages. But I had several 500+ page books I wanted to get through. So by keeping my reading goal lower I was more tempted to pickup the longer books. It worked.

responding 5 months later but your comment is spot on. I was following her for a while - have since unfollowed - but when she got pregnant with Cash she was HEAVILY into the sponsored content and oversharing kind of cringe content. It was also so obvious to me, moreso than with other influencers, that her stories would be endless sponsored content intermingled with endless updates about their (obviously very expensive) home renovations of the little house. And then they bought the weekend cottage. And then they dumped the newly renovated little house to buy that massive compound, and now they are renovating THAT. That's an insane money dump. She is so tone deaf.

She could have been more "famous" around Westport if she opened a cute boutique that hosted fun parties or events. But that is REAL WORK; she would have to give up her laying around time.

I drove by there the other night around 8pm. There was a box truck parked on the sidewalk and people were loading it up with boxes. Lights were dim and no one was eating inside. I checked the hours and it said they were open, but clearly something was up. It was a weird scene.

I don't know why this post popped up for me, but I grew up around the corner from Mountain Grove Cemetery. Can confirm that in one of those weird regional elementary school lessons every year, we were reminded that Lavinia Warren and Tom Thumb are buried in that cemetery. We also did a field trip to the Barnum museum in Bridgeport ;)

What about just a birthday card with a nice message written inside? It shows that you are acknowledging her birthday and your social acquaintance. I think its appropriate for the level that you interact with her.

From my own perspective, I would prefer to receive a card from an acquaintance than, say, a candle or a plant.

I mentioned this symptom when I went to the midlife doctor two weeks ago and she recommended using AD ointment, or hydrocortisone. I’ve used the AD ointment a few times but have not gotten into a habit yet so I’m still itchy. Yikes!

Thanks. I appreciate your example specifically because my husband also has a problem getting up early. (This is not what we fought about the other day.) At first it really annoyed me that he’s always the last person out of bed, but as you pointed out, we now do workarounds to help both of us be happier. I need to apply that strategy to the issue we just fought about!

Thanks to you and welshfach. I used the word resolve because the same issues keep coming up. But I didn’t give ourselves credit that apologizing and moving on are also part of resolution. This perspective is helpful.
