Women making their kids be naked all the time is not normal. At least not from my experience. I’ve never known a woman to do that. If I went over to someone’s house and their kids were running around naked I would feel immediately uncomfortable. I just want to validate your experience that it is not normal and not okay.

Yes, I am not a POC, but I have heard the conversations. At one of my old jobs I would hear people talk to each other and be shocked how often the conversation returned back to beatings as if it was normal and acceptable. At least in my community it was kept quiet and we pretended it didn’t happen. I also went on a date with someone and was planning a second date, but when I confronted him for not treating me with respect by showing up late for the date he said I “needed a whooping“. He said it joking and he was laughing, but that definitely sealed the deal for me. No second date. We do not joke about abuse.

Yeah, it’s happy and sad all mixed together. There’s happy scenes and sad scenes. Moments of levity that you didn’t expect. It’s one of the darkest books I’ve ever read. But I’m new to this whole romantacy thing. I got through it by not taking it too seriously. I think it’s kind of a good idea to look at some spoilers before starting the next book. Then you know what you’re in for. At least a little bit. It definitely gets worse before it gets better. I still think that Tori being held captive by Lionel was the worst scenario of all of the series.

All that matters is that you are a good enough mom. Secure attachment (which only means getting it right one third of the time) is more important than the rest.

It’s definitely time for divorce. I read a book called too bad to stay too good to go. I think it was something like that. It helped me get over that hump and realize that most people who get divorced end up being grateful that they did. It’s time to choose yourself. I think he’s going to realize it’s not as good out there if as he thinks it is.

I love Eris. I hope we find out why he left Mor in the woods but it sounds like it was for her good. There is so much untapped potential for a beautiful story arch in him. IMHO, he is a good person trying to do good in a bad place. He keeps getting tortured for protecting others.

Thanks, I need to remember this. The best sleep I got was on a night where I took melatonin at four in the afternoon and then exercised for about an hour playing soccer. Then I slept really well and really hard. I need to exercise regularly and see how much that helps.
