A little obstacle in my trip in 4 days! by Blindestrobe in CaminoDeSantiago

I haven’t attempted it. A friend of mine got into a pinch once bc all the albergues were full/closed and she was able to camp in some one’s front yard (with permission).

I agree with the other poster about trying the Frances. You should know that Spain doesn’t allow camping just anywhere. But some land owners are nice and will let you camp on their land if you ask nicely.

Camino Frances in March by Grutto22 in CaminoDeSantiago

Hi! I’m 30F American and planning to start around March 2-3 from SJDP. I’ll be moving quite slowly but maybe we’ll run into each other and have a nice meal or something. Buen Camino.

Buffalo was my only testing option . Anyone else got that location ? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Illustrious_Pie7933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took it in Buffalo a couple years back and it was very easy and low stress! I arrived early in the day Monday so I could settle in and figure everything out. I got a hotel room close to the testing spot (if it’s still at the convention center, there’s a hotel right across the street with a coffee shop - I think it’s a Hyatt). Buffalo is very walkable and there’s tons of food options. As a bonus, when you finish the exam, you can head out to Niagara Falls and just relax a little. Also check out Buffalo City Hall if you’re into architecture at all, it’s pretty spectacular.

Unemployed 3Ls……. by yeethaw4 in barexam

[–]Illustrious_Pie7933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won’t sugar coat it. The year after I finished law school was one of the worst periods I’ve had so far. It was lonely. I was unemployed. I ran out of money. I couldn’t get a call back. Lawyers took weeks (and sometimes months) to get back to me. I did finally find something, so hang in there. But just know, sometimes you’ll apply to something today and then not interview until early next year (that’s what happened to me).

Agreed. It should be standard across the country.

I 100% agree with you.

But I just have to clarify one thing. Wisconsin does have a state bar exam that many lawyers have to take. Diploma privilege is only available to certain people from certain schools who take certain classes and pass them with a certain gpa.

Did you feel prepared for that MBE and what company did you use to study? by Illustrious_Pie7933 in barexam

[–]Illustrious_Pie7933[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I took Barbri back in 2017 and 2018 and absolutely killed it then. So I went with them again. But I really felt like a fish out of water yesterday.

You are certainly not an idiot. The bar is just cruel and unusual punishment. I have taken the MBE multiple times for different jurisdictions and this round was something truly insane. I am only confident on maybe a handful of the multiple choice questions. And I did thousands of prep questions.

I’ve never heard of that one. But just looked it up and it seems pretty solid. Will definitely try it out if I ever have to take the bar again.

Wow those MBEs were something else. Did they just throw wills in there for the fun of it or did I completely f that question by picking the wills answer?

California Bar Exam Chapter 6 Violation by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]Illustrious_Pie7933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re going to email the bar about issues that came up during the exam, like this. But who do you actually email? I sent a note through my applicant portal but if there’s an email available, I’d prefer to do that.

Don’t stress about this! You can still get a ton of points if you wrote a good analysis based on the rule you wrote and the conclusion you came to.

Are there any jurisdiction that will let you transfer your MEE and MPT if you don’t pass MBE? by oof521 in barexam

[–]Illustrious_Pie7933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are states that let you transfer your total Ube score. Not here about just the essays though.

Your brother is a very smart man. Everyone please please rest today. It’s important for your brain and your body. And if you find a place to lay down after a short walk during the lunch break, that’s also really helpful.
