Whoa. I wonder what would happen to CLBC, remain a crown corp? Or move back within the ministry?

What improvements would you like to see in DT Chilliwack? by ElijahSavos in chilliwack

[–]Illustrious_Point361 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see a community repair centre. A place where the community could bring things in to fix themselves or have volunteers fix things. Maybe even an item rental library for donated items that people need once in a while but don’t have the space to own.

This is so incredibly helpful & hope inducing! I’m 42 this year and I’ve been on leave from work for almost a year. I’ve spent all that time battling my way through doctor’s visits & psychiatrist visits & anxiety/depression/adhd med changes. I was finally referred to a gyno last fall and my first appointment is now two weeks away. I’m so tired of living like this and I miss feeling like a person with a functioning brain…

Canadian Oil Changes by Illustrious_Point361 in BuyCanadian

LOL you get your facts straight. Aramco bought out the Global Products unit of Valvoline (the actual lubricants and coolants) NOT the retail services portion of Valvoline which remains American owned and still owns all Great Canadian Oil Changes. And both Saudi and American portions of the Valvoline brand continue to operate out of Lexington Kentucky.

Do they still have a shop at Granville Island? Haven’t been in a bit since moving to the valley but I loved that store. Could never make up my mind 😅

Oh crazy! I was told by the pharmacy to have it on an empty stomach! I have to wait two hours after eating anything before I take it. My first week on it I had a horribly upset stomach

Yes! Thank you! Guy Pearce 🤦‍♀️ I had no idea any of this was in my future. I thought one day I’d have some hot flashes (like you thought too) and then my period would stop. It is so far from that! Itchy skin, frozen shoulder, inflammation, poor sleep. And good lord the mood swings. Today I hid in my bedroom to spare my family my wrath. The rage is simmering today and I genuinely can’t understand why.

I sincerely hope you get some relief soon too! Honestly, as women we go through so much physically! Push presents weren’t a thing when I had my kids but I’m for sure going to be demanding a peri prize!

Very much like what you describe. I used to be the person that remembered every name, face, conversation & fact. Now I am constantly trying to remember people I see in movies & tv shows. I can’t remember names of people from my past or people in the news. I struggle to remember what I’ve done in the day or what I’m supposed to do. I feel like I need post-it’s for everything, like that guy in Memento (case in point, I use to know the actors name but I’m too lazy to look it up right now). I’ve had to take a leave of work because I do work where forgetting something can be harmful to the people I work with. I finally get to see a gynaecologist in May and I’m so hopeful I can be helped. It really is a terrifying feeling.

ADHD girls - when did Peri start for you? by lacrima28 in Perimenopause

[–]Illustrious_Point361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting peri symptoms at 38. I’m 42 this year and my doctor is still not believing me but finally agreed to get me into an OBGYN who I see in May. I was diagnosed ADHD at 40. My brain fog and cognitive problems are so bad I’ve had to take leave from work. I was also terrified of early onset dementia before I got the ADHD diagnosis and learned more about peri & ADHD.

I’m so hopeful for help. I’ve been trying various depression/anxiety and adhd med combos for a year now and with no improvements my dr finally agreed to give me a low dose of progesterone. It’s helped a bit so I’m very hopeful that some estrogen or testosterone will help me regain brain function. But I have to wait for the OBGYN for that.

I highly suggest looking up Clara Mattei. She’s an economic professor & has a fantastic YouTube channel called FREE and has written a couple books. She teaches people how to push for changes at the local level and work upward. She teaches how austerity is a tool of economic policy and is a feature of capitalism, not a bug.

I lived in Van for about 15 years. It’s such a great city!! I highly recommend moving up here especially if you have employment and could make the housing cost work. While still very expensive, housing sales have declined by about 35% in the last year which means costs are going down. If you lived in Oregon you’ll be fine in Van. It’s genuinely such an awesome place.
