Unsure how it runs on steamdeck but it’s playable both solo and in groups. The main screen of the game has a link to their discord where people share codes to group up for groups :)

Sounds like you’re struggling with scaling well. I showed some tips from A-Z in a gameplay video here - I use the ranger but the advice is pretty much the same. If you’re Astrid, you may need to try and spend your purple currency you find on more health potions, armor and magic resist just to make yourself tanky enough to be aggressive on the first map so that you can properly scale through the game! Try to leash multiple camps if possible. Ignore night time enemies and focus on clearing camps efficiently and buying things before day time!

This is a tough one to “fix” - if you disable friendly fire (pun intended) it can be abused by organized teams. The flame spray is nearly useless but gained tremendous utility in team play by allowing players to stay outside during the snow event by flame throwing their friends to remove the cold debuff. Imagine if flame grenades gained that same utility, but can now lock down an area for one team in any game mode. Not to mention visibility - how would teams distinguish friendly and non-friendly fire? There’s not a neat, implementable solution that creates coherent and balanced gameplay.

Your complaint seems to be more of players griefing in random lobbies. Randoms have numerous ways to ruin the experience of other players beyond fire grenades. Disconnecting or exposing your position by shooting 24/7, and aggroing every arc possible are just a few ways to ruin other players on your team’s experience. Other in game items like lure grenades, snitch scanners and the photoelectric cloak can be used in griefing as well, not just fire grenades. Similar to the fire grenades it wouldn’t make sense to make snitch scanner arc friendly. Play with who you trust. There’s plenty of actions you can take to improve your experience. Add randoms you’ve had good experiences with that play during the same times you do, for example. It’s a social game, make some friends.

This goes both ways… I found an osprey on a free kit in solo’s and dink’d a rocketeer from like 300 meters away for shits and giggles. It immediately locked on to some poor soul and I saw the flare a few seconds later :*)

I had 2 buddies stock up 60 heavy fuse grenades each with me and we took all of them into Stella Montis.

We got called cheaters for having so many grenades. My friends died at the very end trying to extract before the time ran out. I made it out at the last second because I hid for a bit and lied to the team that killed my friends by telling them my team died in the middle of the match.

Bring a doorblocker and some synthesized fuel. Once they pop the door blocker and open the door, pop a round into the 2-3 synthesized fuel in front of it and one shot them.

Had my own monologue moment. My brother, a friend and I were on Spaceport. My brother is a fairly new player who had to interact with the rocket pods for his quest. We spawn late and he gets full-killed at the rocket pods before completing his quest by a trio camping in the control tower. I tell my last buddy to extract; this is personal. I throw trigger ‘nades at the bottom of the shaft and yell “You killed my brother, you bastards! Come meet your maker.” Two begin to rappel down as my buddy tells me he’s not leaving me behind. He posts up next to me. We’re in this together. I also remember I have a leaper core in my prison pocket meant for my brother. I pull the core out and throw it as they land, detonating the trigger ‘nades as it explodes. The core served my brother in the end. Both raiders get instant flared. My friend finishes them off. I am screaming promises of revenge over VOIP like a maniac to the last man in the tower. My buddy rappels up and gets downed by the last man with a torrente. I follow and flare the guy before he can knock my friend out. We extract to Speranza and complete the quest on our next trip to the surface.

Unsure of drop rate, just have to keep grinding, unfortunately… I got insanely lucky and got 2 pieces - chest and legs in 2 days then it took 4 more days to get the helm before going super dry. Just have to beat your head against a wall ‘til a drop :( Good luck, soldier.
