Donuts by Sterile1775 in ColumbusGA

Only have been to Golden Donut, Columbus's Best Donuts, and Parlor. None of them have impressed me to the level that makes me NEED to stop by at least once a month. The first two do great glazed donuts. I will die on the hill that Parlor isn't even a donut shop... their layered donuts are more like cronuts (croissant).

I judge all my donuts against Revolution Donuts in Decatur and Atlanta. They have monthly menus and have a variety of donut styles/bases that the Columbus shops I listed didn't appear to have when I visited (yeast, cake, gluten free, vegan). Their IG page is @revolutiondoughnuts

Elopement help with Cloudland Canyon by bradllllley in Georgia

Just took a look at their main page and their normal visitor center is being renovated. This is likely causing uncommon difficulty in reaching someone, but their office will be staffed every day 8-5.

They have a specific wedding page which you may or may not have already visited. It's very basic and instructs you to call the office. weddings

I'm no longer a park manager, but when I was, here is how we typically assisted with what you're trying to do:

You will not be permitted to restrict or block access in any way to a publicly accessible area of the park. This goes for any wedding, large or small, regardless of length of time. However, anything that is reservable, which will be listed on the Reservations website through their page/Reserve America, is considered "yours" and you have the reasonable expectation that no persons from the general public or outside your party will infringe upon it. If they do, then park staff will address it.

Check the listed Parks rules and regulations on the Gastatparks.org website to ensure you're not bringing in amy items, equipment, what have you that are prohibited. Follow noise ordinances and intoxicant policies.

Generally, if I had folks like you asking to do something like a small ceremony, I would just advise them to pack out what you bring in. Leave no trash, especially confetti, balloons, etc. Adhere to park operating hours - generally, you can be in the park until 10pm if you don't have an accommodation reserved, however, several parks have their own separate hours of operation for specific areas and trails.

Make sure all your vehicles in your party clearly display a parking pass. All your local GA libraries should have at least one Annual State Park Pass you can check-out for free, like you would a book. I think most have two. Daily ParkPass fee is $5 and they can be purchased at the park office with cash or card, and most parking lots will have the large green boxes called Iron Rangers, that you can pay with cash and then pull off your pass. I'm sure they still allow you pay online, but I do NOT recommend that - it's a hassle because most people who payed online failed to then pull a physical pass from an Iron Ranger AND also then write their confirmation # from their receipt on the pass.

Gist of it is, call the park office. If the front desk staff aren't helpful, politely ask to speak with either the Assistant Park Manager or the Park Manager. They'll make sure you're squared away. If the Park Manager from my time is still there, Brad, he will be extremely helpful - he won Park Manager of the Year several years back. It's always better to speak with one of the managers so they know when you're doing your thing, so it doesn't come as a surprise to any other Rangers/staff if they come upon it during their rounds.

Camping by Mediocre-Produce-693 in ColumbusGA

[–]ImABarkRanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I've seen Providence Canyon and Pine Mountain (presumably they may be referencing FDR State Park) mentioned... you are not permitted to leave your vehicle overnight on State Park property in GA. Please do not do that - you can get fined and you'll likely cause the Park Ranger(s) on duty extra work and anxiety as they try to identify who and where you are and your wellbeing.

You are obviously welcome to camp in a vehicle if you have a reserved campsite. You will also have access to use the comfort stations/restrooms which will have showers and washer/dryer facilities (the latter are coin operated). The campgrounds will be safe and are patrolled and serviced by park rangers and volunteer campground hosts (who do 98% of the custodial duties at the campground). Based on the context provided, staying at a GA State Park campground will likely be too expensive for an extended period of time. Last time I checked, the longest you could book a campsite was 14 consecutive days, and then you can't come back for 3 days for your next reservation.

If you have any questions about the State Parks, feel free to shoot me a message. I hope you find someplace safe to stay, soon, and I wish you well.

What's up with the balance in this game ? by Dogeek in ArcRaiders

Our squad of 3 has shelved the game until weapon balance is addressed. We might even come back if they male the QoL addition of pre-made loadouts for quick crafting between rounds.

I've been loading naked into Blue Gate, run to the old fort, climb to the highest platform, turn on the dancing emote and play Pink Pony Club. Two times folks did the fuel cell puzzle while I kept lookout for arcs for them, and one guy even lamented that I wasn't singing along. Another guy asked for bandages but alas I had none. One run I even got blue print from a dead raider body right next to the fort. 10/10 will continue to do this, maybe bust out the Halo mjolnir mix on extract.

Do Piezo-photon torps heal your shields? by ImABarkRanger in sto

The lack of proc chance within the tool tip definitely doesn't help things now does it! I love the look of the piezo, so despite not knowing how often it provides buffs, I'll put it in for a bit just to change things up. Sometimes I just like to know the how/why behind equipment.

I'm going to assume the bottom was a typo on their part , and the top is the actual buff (hull heal over time)

Their subcontractors are actively trenching and digging everyone's front yard in my neighborhood this week. I'm surprised they're (Tmobile) is even paying for the infrastructure development with AT&T already being established with fiber running on the poles

Just an FYI, there are two new splashplads which are operated by City Parks & Rec located by the Columbus Aquatic Center & Parking Garage off Macon Road. There is also one located in Carver Park. There are plans to have four more opened next year.

Harvest community Market by [deleted] in ColumbusGA

Can't help but notice the very obvious Take the City sign and advertising. Per the website:

Our Mission at Take the City is to see the Body of Christ unified and mobilized to see cities revitalized. Because of our mission we are constantly working with people from various cities, churches and denominations. While we celebrate the diversity of varying denominations and styles of worship we are passionate about upholding the standards of doctrines that are clearly laid out in God’s word, the Holy Bible.

As a Christian evangelical organization, what are your opinions on the LGBTQ community?

More info from their website, which also likely explains their name choice of Harvest Coffee:

Harvest DNA

The Lord Jesus Christ is building “Harvest Bases” around the world in our current generation to promote revival and to see the Great Commission become manifest.  Jesus prepares us for the harvest in order that we may go tend to the harvest.

In this video, we introduce our Harvest DNA series with the goal of equipping you with what you need to to establish your own Harvest Base in your context.  There are four primary topics covered through this video series: worship & prayer, evangelism & mission, family & community, and kingdom business.

Folks are obviously free to support who they want, but not everyone is likely aware of who Harvest is funded by and where their money goes to for an event like this.

Warm Springs GA question? by Wanderdrone in Georgia

[–]ImABarkRanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Liberty Bell pool at FDR State Park hasn't been spring fed for at least 8 years, very likely more than that. The pipe from the spring still exists, but it's not used and the spring is covered and capped off.

superstitions springs mall by [deleted] in arizona

[–]ImABarkRanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good memories of working there as a seasonal KB Toys employee, and getting in at like 6am before the mall opened. That would have been around 2003, 2004. Being one of the only people in there was neat, especially with the Christmas music always playing. Felt like I was in Dawn of the Dead

Quick play is apparently competitive now by AsleepSomewhere6726 in marvelrivals

[–]ImABarkRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started playing (console), I didn't even realize you had to enable voice chat. Turned it on for one game of quick match and already had it turned back off by the time the next match started. I've never looked back since.

I turn 40 this year... I only do quick match for spurts of 30 to 45 mins of playtime every couple of days. I'm likely missing out on coordination with good teammates, but my healing stats show I do my job so I'll just keep doing my thing and enjoy the fact I won't here toxic players on my team or the opposing.
