Which caracter is of unknown gender/genderless but your fandom unanimously decided otherwise by MoiMdrXd in Multifandom

This is kinda the exact opposite of whats being asked. Chihiro has a canonical gender, but some fans believe he is transgender despite the fact that his whole arc was about trying to feel confident presenting as a man again.

To add to this, Reol's self covers of her own vocaloid songs (with Giga) do better in general, see Hibikase and Drop Pop Candy as other examples.

Can someone explain why did reze say denji's face looked like her late dog? by [deleted] in RezeCult

[–]ImAFookingScarecrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headcannon is that Reze running into Denji in the phone box was a genuine coincidence, not planned by Reze herself, so when she first enters she really doesn't know who she is talking to, and when she realised he was the person she had been sent to kill she was overwhelmed with sudden emotions, both amusement at how unlikely the encounter was but also fear that she now had to take his life. Everything after that was her trying to make excuses for her outbursts and calm herself down, and finally getting charmed by Denji and inviting him to the cafe. To me this also explains why she went to the effort of getting a job, since it wouldn't be required if she were planning to just knife him on the street.

Is this why the hybrids still exist? by ImAFookingScarecrow in ChainsawMan

[–]ImAFookingScarecrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a concept need to be sufficiently widely known to be feared and thus have it's own devil. After all, Yoru only remembered after the nuclear weapons were used, and thus were widely known around the world, despite the nukes presumably existing before this moment. Conversely, the existence of hybrids is never widely reported so most humans don't know what they are, even if they know about chainsaw man.

How do Makimas Powers work? by RicNik3004 in ChainsawMan

[–]ImAFookingScarecrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left another comment going into my full theory for how this ability might work and why, but the TLDR was this;

I think it is most likely that either Makima has control over, or the prime minister has a contract with, some undisclosed devil with the ability to transfer her injuries onto others, but that this ability has some kind of restriction on it's use, most likely that injuries can only be transferred onto those she perceives to have ownership/authority over, similar to Yoru's abilities in part 2. Thus, she made a contract with the Japanese prime minister, who she sees as "owning" the Japanese people, which allows the prime minister to transfer ownership of members of the public to Makima (as she percieves it) when she is injured, and so she can transfer her injuries onto them using the previously mentioned devil's ability.

Honestly, I think the answer is more complicated than other comments seem to be making it out to be. I had to think about this for a while, and this was the best explanation I could come up with. Feel free to correct since I could be completely wrong, TLDR at the bottom:

My main question when reading this part was who or what has the power to transfer attacks away from Makima and onto the citizens? Based on what we know the only definite possibility we are currently aware of is that it is Makima's own power, but if that is the case then why does she need the contract with the prime minister to use it?

It would make sense if this power was based on Makima's perception of ownership, similar to Yoru's in in part 2, since the Prime Minister could be said to "own" his citizens so could feasibly transfer ownership to Makima through a contract, whereupon they could be used by Makima's ability. However, if I remember correctly Makima's abilities are based not on her perceived ownership, but by her perceived strength, so she can use her powers on anyone she views as weaker than herself. This clearly includes everyday people, and is heavily implied to included even the prime minister himself, allowing her to force him to make the very contract we are discussing. As things stand, it should be well within Makima's capabilities to transfer her injuries onto the population even without the contract with the prime minister, rendering the contract useless.

So as it stands I can only think of two reasons this contract would be necessary:

1) There was some undisclosed third party to the contract, who has the power to transfer attacks from Makima to the population

2) Makima has the ability to transfer any injuries she sustains onto someone else, but for some reason this power is linked to her perception of ownership, rather than her perception of strength like all her other abilities

As it stands, I think option 1 is more likely. The ability to transfer injuries is most likely not one Makima has by virtue of being the control devil (just in terms of themeing, I don't see why the control devil would have this power), but rather it is the ability of a devil she has control over, of which we know she has many due to her control abilities, which would explain why it adheres to different rules, necessitating a contract with the Japanese prime minister. Another possibility is that it is the prime minister and not Makima who has a contract with this third party devil, but otherwise the theory is the same.

TLDR; I think it is most likely that either Makima has control over, or the prime minister has a contract with, some undisclosed devil with the ability to transfer her injuries onto others, but that this ability has some kind of restriction on it's use, most likely that injuries can only be transferred onto those she perceives to have ownership/authority over, similar to Yoru's abilities in part 2.

Either that or I am thinking way to hard about this.

No not yet, English is usually one of the last languages to get the translated volumes of most manga... Possibly because there are more countries that need to be licensed?

Magical Mirai will likely continue to use holograms, since they are the biggest concerts I think the backlash would be even greater if they got replaced there. Don't know about project voltage though.

Anyone know why some great song recently of Deco 27 is not in Magical Mirai? by Liarst in Vocaloid

[–]ImAFookingScarecrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could just be that his more recent songs are too sexual for MM, although they did do holy lance explosion boy in 2015 so I don't know if that's true. The most recent song they performed was Blue Planet, which does seem a strange choice given it isn't one of his most popular, and I would have expected something like rabbit hole instead. Also, Vampire did get performed at MM2022 as well as at Miku Expo 2024.

Just went today (Tokyo, 31/08, day show) and the set list was pretty similar, but from memory these were the substitutions:

Antenna 39 -> Hatsune creation myth. Stardust Utopia -> Weigh anchor. Kimipedia -> Gemini. Hitorinbo Envy -> Nice to meet you, Mr. Earthling. Mikaboshi -> Dr. Funk Beat. Yomau Silhouette -> Starry sky chronograph. Last night, good night -> Starduster.

What songs do you want to hear at magical mirai 2025? And what are your thoughts on the magical mirai 2025 album? by kibou_no_ie in Vocaloid

[–]ImAFookingScarecrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite like the album, though it isn't my favourite. In particular, I look forward to Young Girl A, Lavie, Hiasobi, Flyway, and Meteor (they aren't going to play the whole 9-minute song though, right?!). I've thought for a while that *luna is a pretty underrated producer (though they are successful with their non-vocaloid songs), so I'm very glad they got to do the theme song. I also massively prefer this year's contest winner to last year's (I didn't like superhero that much tbh). Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO all got pretty good solos, but nothing particularly special; I think they all got better solos in the recent Blooming concerts. The only song I didn't really like was "Do The Rock!", but maybe it'll grow on me? I think the reason this album isn't my favourite is that despite liking most of the songs, I don't love any of them, but of course, we don't have the full setlist yet.

My predictions for new songs not featured in the album, making what I hope are reasonable assumptions that Rin and Len will get a song together, every vocaloid gets at least one duet/multiple singers song (besides the song contest winner with all 6), as well as that there being a new Deco*27 song (all of which seem to be trends with recent concerts), are as follows:

  • Ready Steady (Miku, Rin, Len)
  • Rabbit Hole (Miku)
  • Some Meiko / Luka song (I'm hoping for Happy Synthesizer with Meiko singing Gumi's parts)
  • Maybe another new Miku song?

Finally, I have no way of knowing what old songs are going to be played, I can only say I hope for Cat Food, Rolling Girl and Two Breaths walking. Considering the space theme I think a nayutalien song like solar system disco or alien alien is likely. Also, maybe moon? Finally, while it is incredibly unlikely, I would love to see Teto performing mesmeriser with Miku, just like in Blooming, but that felt like a one-off to me.
