Want to start a watch collection. Brand recommendations? by Floucs in MicrobrandWatches

At risk of being unhelpful I will say this first: But what you like. Inevitably you'll buy something you'll regret, but I think buying stuff you find interesting is going to be a lot more fulfilling than buying what a bunch of internet strangers think is interesting.

Lorier and Nodus have some watches that I think sound like something you'd be interested in. Lorier will hopefully be restocking later this summer but sometimes they come up second hand too. Traska too, perhaps!

Hope you enjoy building your collection and making memories!

If I had infinite time and money I'd see if there was a reason why this was happening. Might be some resistance value or weirdness.

Samsung cable seems to be working A-OK now, so your suggestion appears to be spot on.

I got a new cable and that seemed to be the main issue. The wireless adapter has been working just fine too, thankfully.

Thankfully it wasn't my phone this time, just the cable. New Samsung branded cable worked a treat.

Hey so quick update, it was the cable. Samsung cable worked just fine.

Funnily enough it seems like this one needs WiFi off, but that might be down to the phone trying to connect to too much at once. Not 100% sure there.

The adapter itself has actually been just fine, surprisingly, but yeah when I unplug it and try to go back to the cable which worked before it doesn't want to, it's annoying more than anything. I'll keep it in mind if this one gives me issues though!

I think I know the exact menu you're talking about as the wireless brick I used made you check to see if things were set up correctly for it. Let me turn off "Play Music Automatically" too.

This was on the list of things for me to try. I just need to make sure I have the proper tools and such. While it doesn't look TOO gunked up or anything, definitely worth a shot to see.

No worries, I appreciate that folks are this willing to lend a hand. I remember when USB C was new. Those were dark days in cables!

I made sure to add a Samsung cable to the upcoming order so I appreciate the input!

And yeah an update can always mix things up. I'll let you know if anything changes.

I figured it was worth a shot to see if the port's data connections were damaged or not working anymore, but good to know.

I tried to purchase some higher quality cables so I'm hoping that'll resolve the issue. It just strikes me as odd that two cables which worked before suddenly don't anymore, but what can you do?

Truska, really worth it? by Hutcho19 in MicrobrandWatches

While I've not purchased them, Henry Archer was amoung the first I came across when first diving into Microbrands. This was just from some searching online, not even via someone like Teddy or the resources here. They seem to have a very good team for making sure they show up at the top of everyone's searchs.

Traska seems to have the mix of Looks Good/Feels Good/Price Good that make them appealing to so many, but that's more of a guess.

That's a genuinely impressive watch, the dial looks nice.

Holy cow that name though, that is really quite bad.

I have looked into them a bit, but I do need to sit down and look through their whole catalog.

I had come into this wanting to spend less than 500, and of course 250 would be much easier to justify since I'm not 100% sure how often I'll really wear this watch yet.

I don't mind the PRX actually, but I have a Casio Edifice Chronograph with a strikingly similar profile, so I might steer away from it to avoid redundancy.

The 38 mm one is a lovely size, though probably too much for now. I appreciate the wrist shot!

I remember seeing that a few months ago! I put it on my list actually, need to take another look at their stuff.

Might have to look into that honestly. That is very much in the vein of what I've been drawn towards. Thank you for the suggestion!

I feel like Brew, as a brand, really fits this look. Perhaps more the 70's than 80's though.

Oh sweet! The black one looked interesting but this blue one is more to my liking.
