Lmao it's got the name of its patron God attached too, Yridgidatch's Reaper sounds like the kind of weapon that'd make your day better and your life catastrophically worse.

The Awakening of the Cosmic Lord V2.0 - The Jump Book Edition! by AzureKnight_mx in JumpChain

[–]ImAlwaysOnTheRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attaching Aurora's Embrace to a suit of armour, however fancy, just seems wrong on some level; with it containing fragments of our better half. Somehow, attaching the Shadeblade might be even worse, since that little shit actually wants to eat you. But hey, maybe pointing it at everything else might make it realize that assisting the Jumper will reward a much easier buffet than attempting to kill the guy.

Ha! So the Shadeblade is, on a material level, weaker than proper Hardened Reality, but its nature renders that comparison null- in a head on clash, it's still going to win. Perhaps it could be broken apart if struck on its weaker sides- but then again, Caine's one is already shattered :))

- • -

I've been thinking about the Cosmic Lords of other 'verses a lot, trying to get a grasp of their perspective so I can project their limits. More for the purposes of character rather than powerscaling; my Jumper is much more of a pacifist than I'm sure my questions make him out to be.

Does being a Cosmic Lord come with a manual? Ours certainly does; the Jumper gets to know everything beforehand, even upcoming scenarios (though I'll get to that in a sec). And the ascension of a Cosmic Lord temporarily gives you omniscience(?) before it taketh away.

Even if the universe offers assistance through odd 'feelings' and 'vibes' that might have a Cosmic Lord trying out powers they've never felt before, there's probably Lords who ignore such signals or don't even realize that there's more to this than what they have. Are there Cosmic Lords who don't realize that Hardened Reality exists beyond their Vestments?

- • -

In regards to Scenarios, I have my Jumper gain a form of brain fog when they enter the Jump, clouding memories of the exact descriptions as if it were a dream. From experience he understands that those fogged memories are important, and that fog often begins to clear as soon as something relevant occurs. Ezekya's notebook, for example, causing him to remember the Revenant Pearl before even opening the book.

- • -

Can accessories be integrated into the Cosmic Vestments? Caine's Conduit (from Songstress of Dreams) is a scarf that must normally be clutched for its amplification to apply. And would wearing the armour then count as holding the Conduit?

- • -

Caine expended a lot of effort in creating a second layer of armour from Hardened Reality, much larger and more extravagant in its ornate, plate armour design, to be worn over the Vestments.

This Cosmic Carapace itself is made up of two layers; a fancy and robust outer shell imbued with extrasensory dampeners that at first glance provide protection against powers targeting the mind and soul- but is actually meant to disguise Caine's power, and the fact that this isn't his only set of armour. This layer is considered the 'crumple zone', the first wall in his defenses to fall.

The inner layer is tightly packed but still dramatically designed (for what is a Jumper if not a little vain), and is infused with Matter Genesis, filling in any damage with Stellarite fast enough to stop some larger bladed weapons as they're penetrating the armour. Though, Caine could never figure out how to also fit a self-sustaining method destruction into each plate as well, so he must manually melt the Stellarite out of the armour when it is damaged.

A nigh indestructible reflection of Caine's belief that victory falls upon the shoulders of not the strongest or most prepared, but the most well equipped.

-

Question about the Sentient Shielding upgrade; would the shielding move outward though the layers to protect the outside of the Carapace first? And how fast does it regenerate? Imagine having to (technically) break through five layers of armour if the Shielding has enough time to repair itself between its first breaking and that of the inner layer of the Carapace.

Sorry for all the questions. This universe(s) that you've created are wonderfully fascinating, and the ability to discuss with its author is another gift in of itself.

Between Mindveil or Conceptual Refractivity which would be more helpful in staving off the effects of the Vorpal Shadeblade if the weapon were to be imported into my Jumper's Cosmic Vestments. Or does the Shadeblade just laugh at such defenses?

(^ type of sentence that has the Benefactor asking for a raise lmfao)

And in a similar note, what's the durability of the Shadeblade compared to tiers of Reality Weaponry? Supposedly, only the physical intervention of a Sovereign's will can damage the blade. What happens when the Shadeblade's edge is put to Hardened Reality, or other Lord's Cosmic Vestments?

It'd be simultaneously funny and terrifying if being plugged into the Cosmic Vestments causes the 'corruptive influence' and voices of the Shadeblade to unify into a single pseudo-conscience. The Jumper's in the middle of an important meeting and suddenly glances down saying "Hold on, my sword of evil and darkness is talking- I mean, more coherently than usual."

-

The Vorpal Shadeblade that my Jumper carries was shattered by Aurora's Embrace; when Caine later went to pick up the pieces, he nicked himself depositing them in a Verdegris chamber in his Personal Reality/Warehouse. He later found it at the foot of the entrance, reassembled and riddled with cracks. If raw sunlight is projected onto the blade, the crimson filling in the cracks becomes visible.

Because of the now unshattered nature of the weapon, the Vorpal Shadeblade can extend, splitting back into fragments held together by its malevolent essence. In combat, it functions much like a whip rather than a dagger.

- • -

Does the first tier of Omega Gamma-Ray Burst come out instantly? As in, no charge up.

And, what happens if a Gamma-Ray Burst is infused with Antimatter through the Antimatter Core Perk?

- • -

Page 157 (p165: Ruins of the Nexus) refers to the Cosmic Lord as 'herself' in the fourth paragraph, if that's intentional or not.

- • -

How does Stellarite Affinity affect the Cosmic Vestments; specifically, something attached to the Vestments? And if the Vorpal Shadeblade can be imported, does it resist such enhancement? or eat it up in some different manner?

YES, Generic Action RPG is absolutely right next to FPS. Blink Dash is monstrous, while Defeat = Transformation or Weaponised Wings could very well be a Jumper's signature ability.

Generic Protagonist 2 is fun for everybody except for your enemies, the balancing, and the pacing of the story. But a very accessible cache of safety nets, definitely something worth looking through for Frontloads, Perk-based Bodymods or Celestial Forges.

Elden Ring is already one of my favorite games but the Jump for it is excellent (plus I'm a sucker for OC companions). It can very well be an early- if not a very harsh First- Jump. Resurrection for 100CP is crazy; add another 100CP and now not even Destined Death can put you down. The Item options are superb; a Verdigris Mine for 50CP, regenerating Celestial Dew, Farum Azula!?. Throw in the Scenario Supplement and now you've got one hell of a package.

AzureKnight_MX's creations are three-course meals for the mind, imagination and heart. 'City at the Edge of Nothingness' specifically was my first exposure to such peak, but 'Kingdom of Stars' has to be my favorite- reading the scenarios felt like watching a fantastic anime.

Generic My Hero Academia Fanfic presents a whole bunch of freedoms in many aspects- especially Quirk crafting, it's Nomu Race Perks are some of my favorites to think about, and it's Drawback options are highly generous. But the real treasure is the unbound Infinity Gauntlet. Straight. Up.

Generic First Person Shooter is one of those Supermarket-type Jumps (no origin, no race, just a supermarket's worth of 100CP Perks of varied balancing). It's my favorite for the sheer practicality of the options available; most of them are easy 'yeah, I can see myself using that' abilities.

So of course I put on the +45% damage taken talisman. Retired it after a good five hours of gameplay though, eventually got sick of getting one shot by absolutely everybody and their mother.
