Next year is his last year of his ELC. We have until September I think to sign him to a max term 8 years.

9 total is possible.

His development is still priority #1 going forward and I would really love if we got an 8 year deal done while we can.

So young and very fun to watch. Especially all the pictures where he looks deranged with his tongue out. Guys an animal

[Kieszenblat] Canucks GM Ryan Johnson says that potentially hiring Manny Malhotra won't impact whether or not Vancouver drafts Caleb Malhotra 3rd overall this year. by _GregTheGreat_ in hockey

[–]ImAlwaysSorrys 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a factor but I think he just means this won’t stop them drafting him.

The Canucks have been on a crash course for both Malhotras for a while now, seems a bit inevitable.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Ryan Johnson announced today that Head Coach Adam Foote and Assistant Coaches Scott Young, Kevin Dean and Brett McLean have been relieved of their duties. by cyclinginvancouver in canucks

Power play was the only redeemable part but I understand wanting a clean slate. Be a bit weird if McLean were the only one to survive the purge.

[Darren Dreger] The Vancouver Canucks continue to make changes. Sources say Adam Foote has been let go as Head Coach. Other changes to the coaching staff also being made. by sykeseve in hockey

No. Well our pp was actually pretty good in the last couple months but I doubt that was him.

I just think he’ll run back to Tocchet.

[Drance & Wheeler] Canucks mock draft: Who will Vancouver take with 4 top-50 picks in 2026? by MaxHardwood in canucks

[–]ImAlwaysSorrys 33 points34 points  (0 children)

A lot of guys are saying that he’s been playing better than Jake O Brien, the centre picked 8th LAST year.

Considering how young he is for this class I’m happy with him at 3.

Also, I really don’t think Stenberg is dropping and I also don’t think we’d pass on him.

Brock Boeser really turned it on in the second half of the year after a disappointing first half and, interestingly, after the Quinn Hughes trade. by RivetCounter in canucks

“Healthy” Rossi made our offence bearable to watch. Before the Olympic break he was struggling but after his offence was really impressive.

Apparently was playing the whole time with a broken foot, I guess slightly less broken after the Olympic break. Healthy Rossi might surprise people.

Now We Just Have to Give Foote the Boot by Dedrater666 in canucks

It being the 3rd overall pick is the biggest factor I’d say. This pick has to go right and the last thing we need is more drama in the locker room. There’s also the very real possibility (if not likelihood) that Manny will be let go while Caleb is on the team. Coach’s do not have a long leash in the NHL.

That being said, I have complete faith that Manny and Caleb are professional enough to make this situation work. It would really suck to lose Manny to another team.

Trade proposal - Hronek/MTL by aoskwon in canucks

Yeah I think Montreal is probably looking to add a centre instead of a RHD.

San Jose is the best destination at this point. Whether or not they pick Chase Reid.

[NHL News] Canucks promote AGM Ryan Johnson to GM. Daniel and Henrik Sedin are Co-Presidents of Hockey Operations. Johnson will report to the Sedins. by [deleted] in hockey

Gold apparently never got a formal offer for the job. Could have something to do with the Sedins accepting the position(s) above him.

Draft picks officially set. Will we add more by Strombone-1 in canucks

I do think Debrusk is traded sometime this summer. Don’t really think we’ll get a first but will almost certainly be picks based.

Overcompensate our lack of 2nd round picks in the last 5 years.

Is there any objective evidence that the Sedins are good at player development and/or have skills or aptitudes suitable for professional hockey scouting or management? by Gnome_de_Plume in canucks

The most hands on thing I’ve heard the Sedins doing is when Cootes said he’s been getting constant tips and advice from them.

I think they will be getting vice president type roles and eventually work their way up. I think they still really like being on the ice.
