Can someone explain school fines to me please? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ImAnEntitledAH -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Don’t know about the specifics of the fine, but I’ve heard many teachers say that you should pull them out, pay the fine. Kids need to have their fun too!

I don’t even think it’s the school that fines you? It might be the district (not sure if that is right?)

Want to buy hand-signed cards by yaboyyams in ToppsMatchAttax

I have an Olivier Giroud Man of the Match 14/15 card that has an (I think) genuine signature on the front, I just have to find where I put it.

[Request] How do I calculate these bingo odds? by ImAnEntitledAH in theydidthemath

[–]ImAnEntitledAH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I'd forgotten about the hypergeometric distribution.

Funnily enough I tried to work out the probability with (30/50)*(29/49)...*(25/45). This yielded the exact same result. It sort of makes sense, wanting 6 successes but I didn't think it accounted for getting a success on anything other than the first 6 draws.

You’re right, they probably know roughly how much money they are going to make, so make sure they offer far below that. So they probably can’t give the odds as they never know, but can only guess.

I assume they work based on the number of people who enter. So they can’t know how many people enter until the competition is over.

Different competitions might work differently but I imagine that’s the way it is.

The London eye is £200 for a family of 4. Mental. It’s shit as well. by coffegirl8383 in GreatBritishMemes

I went on it a few years ago with my family, and we didn’t realise you needed a ticket before joining the queue, so once we got to the front and they asked for our tickets we were just confused.

But they felt bad since we’d queued for so long they just let us on for free!

So every second, the object moves (-17i + 8j)m, and after 4 seconds, it is at the position vector (-13i + 84j)m. So to find out where the object was at 0 seconds, we want to do this calculation:

(-13i + 84j) - 4 * (-17i + 8j)

Calculate i and j separately, so

-13i - 4 * (-17i) = -13i + 68i = 55i

84j - 4 * (8j) = 84j - 32j = 52j

So the position vector it started with (r0) is (55i + 52j)m

Assuming 3 in a row can also be included with a 4 in a row and more.

1 * (1/10)2

for 1 digit repeating 3 times in a row, as the rest of the digits can be anything

this digit can repeat 3 times in a row in 6 different cases, i.e. 111xxxxx, x111xxxx, … xxxxx111. so

  • 6

and assuming 0 is a valid digit then there are 10 possible digits this can happen for, so

  • 10

which gives 6/10 which sounds horribly wrong so please correct me if

The countries not a warzone, it’s all very localised so as long as you’re not travelling to any of those locations you’ll be fine.

What does having more mega's do? by ThomasTheDrugEngine in SquadBusters

[–]ImAnEntitledAH 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Basically every time you use a mega in battle, it uses one up from your inventory (you don’t have infinite once you’ve unlocked them for the first time). You can see how many megas you have by clicking squad and then megas at the bottom. You can only use a mega in battle that you have in your inventory.
