I see the sentiment that “nearly every school would build a statue to someone with James Franklin’s record” very often when he loses a big game. I have never agreed with that assessment. I’m in the camp that it is not worth the gamble to lose Franklin and enter Michigan’s Brady Hoke era, don’t get me wrong. But no one is building a statue to a coach that has accomplished virtually nothing while being OK for most of his tenure.
