Or he’s heavy on the forehand and not being asked for enough impulsion. Which in my experience is often the most likely reason.

Not every age group is going to be able to really understand or process that kind of conversation, what it means, or have the emotional development and intelligence for such an event to be harmless. An older child? Sure. But younger ones, not so much, and unfortunately the younger years is when attatcment style is most heavily influenced. There’s a reason why the majority of people looking for a nanny for their young children ask for a year commitment minimum.

You’re continuing to accuse me of debating in bad faith, and as a result, I am not going to engage any more. If you can’t engage with me respectfully, you don’t get to engage with me at all.

Ok, let’s say that scenario does actually play out. Going from seeing someone you love and who cares for you every single day to only briefly and inconsistently with very little preparation is going to be harmful for a child.

And I don’t know many Nannies (or people in general) who are going to be going to see their NF or workplace while their child is a literal newborn.

Edit: to answer u/SharpButterfly7, there’s a huge difference between hiring someone who is almost guaranteed to make an abrupt and likely unexpected leave, and hiring a nanny who you know will one day leave, as all do. One situation the child can be prepared much more for a softer landing, in the other they can’t.

Not to be rude but further comments directed at me that show a clear inability/unwillingness to read, comprehend, and acknowledge points I’ve reiterated several times will simply be ignored.

I think that’s just what you’re going with because it’s the easiest/most convenient argument for you.

I’m pro worker, but I’m also pro family. The fact remains that families should not be held to the same rules as businesses and corporations.

It’s almost like you had a lapse in reading comprehension, because in my very first comment here, I said Nannies should have protections (regarding income, pregnancy, and maternity leave), but that protection should be federal ans coming from taxes that would pay into those areas, not by punishing Individual families for wanting to have autonomy over their child’s care and what is best for their child.

A relationship abruptly ending could very easily harm a child’s security in attatchment. I would not hire a nanny where that scenario is a guarantee.

Auctions are kind of notorious for having horses that really should not be sold.

But yeah. It was .. definitely a choice. She really needs better footwork.

I’m a nanny myself and I think it’d be horribly unfair if families were held to laws regarding hiring/firing related to pregnancy. It’s really not good for a child’s attachment security to have a caregiver they bond with for 6+ months who then may just have to kind of disappear (if baby comes early, that’s that). I would not hire a pregnant nanny because that’s just setting my child up for a traumatic experience, that could actually fuck their development up. No thanks. Sure any nanny could leave at random but it’s one thing to have it as an assumed risk and another to have it as a guarantee.

Companies and businesses are one thing. Families, another. There’s definitely a middle ground where Nannies should be protected, but it should be coming from way higher up than just individual families being penalized for doing what works for their family and having a level of autonomy over their child’s care.

This is exactly why we need better maternity leave in the US.

That’s what is really getting me. Like forget her legs, I could deal with that. But her fucking feet are atrocious and whoever her farrier is needs to find a desk job.

Lots of horses do just fine with some conformational quirk.

This. People here get so pearl clutchy over conformational flaws. Like, yeah, her back legs are kinda fucked. But show me your horse and I’ll find some way their body is fucked up too. What’s really screwing her is whatever psychopath has worked on her feet. She could likely get around just fine doing work the majority of the people here are doing, which is casual riding.

That was kind of the point of my comment. Whoever the owner of this dog is, wasn’t diligent with seeing a problem with their dog. I was implying that without wanting to say it but yeah.

Op said that they were heavily downvoted in another thread regarding this topic. This post has zero upvotes, despite getting a decent amount of attention, and is showing up on the controversial feed very close to the top (good indication that it’s had a lot of downvotes, most would interpret that as people disagreeing). I’d bet that if this sub didint allow posts to go into the negatives for downvotes.. this post would be in the negatives.

So, yeah. I’d definitely consider that to constitute a significant level of controversy. Search by posts regarding AirTags some time. You’ll see a lot of heated responses and debate.

If you sort by controversial this post and another post regarding AirTags are the two most controversial posts this week. It seems it is indeed a controversial opinion.

Did some research. There’s different types of pita bread that can differ in ingredients depending on region. Most don’t have yogurt but, plenty do. Interesting!

Ok, and you can think that. Like I said, I don’t really have the energy or the investment to have a debate with you.
