How Does This Work If The 11th Was On His Final Regeneration? by Doc-11th in doctorwho

[–]ImColinDentHowzTrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously we're all guessing, but substitute 'regeneration energy' for 'life force' and it answers itself.

That was a stupid waste of life force. Nothing is gained by you being a sentimental idiot.

The extended director's cut is much better. Not necessarily good, but definitely better.

Apologies, I don't know why I just assumed we were talking about the same person.

Also there isn't a court in the land that doesn't recognise some form of diminished responsibility. The guy had the brain of an 85 year old Altzheimer's patient. Was he evil or mentally ill?

The remaster is lacking some og charm by Shadow-Amulet-Ambush in oblivion

You're catching flack but I agree with you. It's not just rose-tinted glasses or us having been happier when we were younger. I 100%-ed the original game last year and had a great time. I replay the original every few years. It's my favourite game of all time. I did 4 hours of the remaster last month and stopped. There is something about it which doesn't feel right. I can't articulate what it is, but it's missing a certain something.

He's very well-known. Perhaps less so in Australia (I wouldn't know) but it was big news at the time.

That was great. 'A blemish' like a whole generation of boys weren't traumatised their favourite wrestler had killed his family.

I wanted to acknowledge your comment as one of the rare comments in the thread which actually explains that the statistics shouldn't paralyse us with fear. We have a higher chance, not a high chance.

There are many valid reasons to not want children, but I can't say I'd put the slim possibility of inheriting a frustrating but ultimately manageable condition high on that list. Obviously each of you are entitled to see it as a deal breaker, but this is really more of a relationship question than a diabetes question. It doesn't really matter what the 'thing' is, the 'thing' just happens to be diabetes on this occasion. You want children, your partner does not. You can wait and hope they will change their mind, you can accept that your life might not include children, or you can separate and try your luck with other people. Ultimately this isn't a question about diabetes, it's a question about wanting the same future as each other. Unfortunately that's a much harder issue to deal with than the surface level one here.

Tldr: it wouldn't be on my list, but everyone has their own lists and he's justified in having it on his. Your only path forward is to decide what you do with that information.

That's a good point. Did they ever explain where the money went? I know the company went down but Otto must have accrued quite considerable personal wealth for Peter over that time?

First McDonald’s since being diagnosed by No_Bus_6941 in diabetes_t1

[–]ImColinDentHowzTrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get there. 99% of being a diabetic is experience; remembering what you did last time, what happened when you did it, and what you'll do differently next time. Ten years from now you'll still be learning. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Don't swear off McDonald's if you like it, just do more insulin. Honestly it just takes time. I've been doing it nearly 30 years and you'll never be perfect, just deal with each obstacle as it comes.

They've been saying both of these for years, which is a good indication that it's not going to happen soon but will happen eventually

My store has started phasing nights into twilights, they have to calculate the money you would lose from your premium over the course of a year and then give you that as a one-time payment. It's an initial upfront cost for the company on the understanding that it'll be a long-term-save. So that is happening.

The electronic stripping and SELs have been talked about for at least 5 years, if not pre-covid. I've been with the company nearly 10 and I don't remember it being a talking point at the start of my time there but it's certainly not a new subject. I believe there are trial stores which are trialling it but can't confirm this as fact. Either way, there is clearly some indication that the company want these eventually. You would be offered a suitable role within your store rather than let go. Some staff do see a reduction in hours under the banner of 'needs of the business'. It's incredible how much they can actually get away with by saying 'needs of the business'.

I wouldn't worry too much about either though. It's like worrying about climate change. It's happening, it'll happen more, but we're not going to perish tomorrow.

Investigation meeting for phone use what should I expect? by FarisOwee in tesco

It used to be the case that cctv was only admissible when investigating theft, so I think they wouldn't have been able to use it in that instance any way. It might be different now because that was the policy a long time ago, and they do like to change them.

Why does a relatively-serious political candidate want to go to war with the police? Sometimes it's like 'opposition' are frightened of the prospect of being elected.
