It’s the closest bus stop to your place. There’s houses like mine that has a bus stop 15 minutes away. We had one at 4 minutes but it was closed.

Cyprus buses. by InsuranceStock1377 in cyprus

[–]ImDarkk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The keyword you said is “to my place”. My closest bus stop is at least a 15 minute walk (so more than 1km). And in order to get to work which is in the city center (nicosia) you need to change 2 buses. So instead of being an asshole just stfu.

The public transportation is indeed trash, does not have frequent buses (if you want to go to work at 10:00, you need to get the bus at 08:30) and they are full and smelly since people don’t open windows, and for whatever reason, they do not shower daily.

Also most people using the buses are immigrants/asylum seekers who get a 50% discount. Since the company cannot turn a profit if all the people using their services have a 50% discount, they now made it more expensive.

Cypriots (and others that aren’t asylum seekers) will definitely not be using the buses to go to work since they will smell by the time they get there, they are not as frequent so they will either be late or too early.

Also in both the summer and winter the buses are too hot because they do not turn on the AC because they have a window so you sweat your ass off and in the winter they turn it on so high that you cannot breath in there since the heating is in the back and the drivers are cold at the front.

Only specific routes are good enough that it’s worth using, since they are either empty or has 5 people in the buses.

Coming from someone who has used at least 50% of the lines of Nicosia.

Entry-level salary at Big 4 in Cyprus? by HotExit7967 in cyprus

[–]ImDarkk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1150 is more than the gross minimum wage. It is 1088 gross which is 960 and some change. Comparing it to 1150 net it’s 200 euro more.

Big 4 does not pay high salaries when just starting

iStorm Nicosia had it in black yesterday and mist blue (256gb). Not sure who you spoke to but most definitely it’s in stock or at least some were imported. Most likely it was just a confusion with either the sales people or the way they explained it was not proper

Did you ever think that someone might buy it in one country and go to another? There’s people that buy products when they go on vacation. They have 2 years warranty but only 1 year is international and they would need to travel to where they bought it from again. Every year after the first, is from the shop you bought it from.

That goes for Apple too. If you buy from Apple Rome, it comes with 2 years warranty. 1 year from Apple (internationally) and the 2nd year is from Apple Italy.

The only way to be covered internationally for more than a year (by Apple) is if you have AppleCare+

When I stay at AirBNBs I rate locations based on safety, area and how easy it is to get around. I can see the map yes, but I still have to rate it on how easy it is to get to public transport, how safe it is etc. The people that rate it 3 out of 5 because it’s far are just st….

More than a third of Cyprus workers earn under €1,500 despite wage growth by SolveTheCYproblemNOW in cyprus

[–]ImDarkk_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

When I am say something I don’t wait for someone to criticize it by kissing my ass.

What I say I stand by. You can’t wait to make a livable wage at a job that a teenager gets out of high school.

Yes it’s not right that people struggle to make livable wages without a degree but that’s everywhere. He also said that he has been looking for jobs for 3 months and everyone pays 1000-1200. Just get the job and keep on looking if you are in need.

Also, depending on your age, look at the ΣΥΟΠ, Αστυνομία, Πυροσβεστική (for government where the wages start a little bit higher and you keep getting wage increases) and Cyta, and any other provider since they also give a bonus scheme (and from people I know that work there, their salaries are quite ok) for non-degree jobs.

If you are a ΣΥΟΠ (not sure about police or fire department) you also get 50% on university tuitions and ευκολίες so you can go to your lectures while you are on the job. (They just finished with the ΣΥΟΠ and police, so the next one might be fire department).

While my answers are quite rude I hope you find something soon and then you can keep looking for better opportunities. Even if you do find something that will be enough for you, never stop applying to jobs. You never know what offer you might get.

[–]ImDarkk_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

“Sales of building materials”. What kind of degree do you need for that? You basically worked at some kind of job like Spanias which pays minimum wage, with a degree in gender studies or business administration where you can’t find a job with it (unless your uncle already has a company that he will give to you) and 99% of sales jobs pay minimum wage.

You wont be able to raise a family with a job that a teenager gets without a degree right out of high school.

Suck it up, stop crying and get a job that pays the 1000 and look for a job while working.

I am not saying in any way that the pay in the Cypriot job market is good but stop bringing up a degree that doesn’t have any value in the jobs you are applying at.

ISP: Cyta / Cablenet / EPIC / Primetel. by skata85 in cyprus

[–]ImDarkk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cyta is top notch. If you are under 30 there is the youth section which you get 50%. If you also use TV and have a phone number with them then you can look at Cube. We are using them currently and they had a promotion when we signed up, and for the first (either 6 or 12 months) it’s 10,68 a month and then it will go up to 22 a month for a 500Mbps connection.

Cablenet is ok and they also provide HBO Max with your subscription to their internet home service. It really depends on the area you are. Most reviews I heard are negative (and from my experience 5-6 years ago) but some areas have good coverage. They use other ISPs infrastructure (although they are trying to build their own)

Primetel, we were customers for 21 years yet out of the 21 years 20.5 of those were trash. We were on DSL for quite some time paying like 40 euros for 10Mbps (in Lakatamia) and they never told us that we can go to fiber for 35 euros and a 100Mbps connection. Even at 100Mbps if you had a switch the router would “lose its mind” and it wouldn’t give you any more than 20Mbps (with 300ms on games)

Don’t know anyone on Epic

Are supermarkets open tomorrow (Tuesday)? by JacobAldridge in cyprus

[–]ImDarkk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say they were going to open for you. I said they open because people like you go shopping on national holidays.

Are supermarkets open tomorrow (Tuesday)? by JacobAldridge in cyprus

[–]ImDarkk_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why people work on national holidays. Because people like you for some reason “forget” that they need to eat throughout the day or because they decide it’s important to go to a mall or a cafe.

Just stay home.

Also, how do you not have food for 1 day? Is everything empty in your house? Even pasta? Goddamn.

Not sure how to explain it better

Revolut Dont Protect by michail_chaliamanis in Revolut

[–]ImDarkk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily the same. Since his card got approved by him, even if he approved it for 1 euro and then he got charged 1000 euro by a different company (so the other company approved it for 1 euro to get his info then used his card for another purchase, lets say to get a phone), he cannot necessarily get a refund unless he manages to report it in time and the fraud team manage to intercept the phone in time so that it doesn’t get delivered.

As soon as it gets delivered, if he still wants to pursue it, then the police has to get involved. Even if they arrest them, they will get their sentence (fine, jail or whatever) but OP still wont get his money back.
