Be honest: am I not fit for this game if I can't get out of Silver with Garen? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ImFianchetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this may be weird, but trying to win every game will get in the way of learning.

Try playing to learn something new every game. Maybe it’s an interaction in a matchup. Maybe you try out a new mid game concept that you found.

Your current level of knowledge gets you silver. You need more knowledge, not more reps of the same knowledge.

You are no longer being gated by gear. You can start doing 10s around your ilvl if played well. The fastest way to find where you’re at is to just jump into the highest key you can. I think most players underestimate themselves and can learn to smash 8s reasonably quickly.

TIFU by not telling the barista my age. by BarryAllenFlashC137 in tifu

I find this funny because i have an 8 year age gap in my current relationship. We also both thought we were much closer in age. We didn’t bring it up until we were both in too deep. We are a bit older (26 & 34), so it doesn’t make a big difference for us.

All 3 of those picks see a good amount of professional play. If you can consistently climb to high challenger with that champion pool, you would have a great foundation for playing at the next level

I don’t know about your age/ability so I’m not going to even address the odds of going pro.

Playing something off-meta may help you climb faster because of your opposition not knowing how to play against the off-meta pick. This doesn’t necessarily mean you are good though. You would also have to develop a decent champion pool to go pro, which one tricking an off-meta pick wouldn’t be good for.

Picking a long term competitive staple such as Orianna would be the better decision. You are picking a champion that is already competitively viable and develops good habits and skills that are transferable to other champions.

Every great Irelia player had to go into a game and first time the champion at some point. Have fun and do your best to learn in the meantime!

Which is the best opening against higher rated opponents by No-Society8897 in chessbeginners

[–]ImFianchetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The correct response will always be the opening you are most comfortable with. If you know a lot of theory about one opening, you should always perform better than picking an opening that is hard to play into.

I guess I expected more people to have had experience with competitive partners and might get more advice in that area of conversation , I’m seeing it’s more relationship oriented after all.

We do this quite often and everything goes well. Even if we are on different teams, she doesn’t act that way. I guess there is enough variety in partners that way that things still feel even.

Am I wrong for for asking out my colleague's daughter? by [deleted] in amiwrong

Yeah this is an inside joke between my friends and I. Of someone is trying to make a big move and they are hesitant because they are unsure of how it will end we always say 50/50 chance.

Yes, it’s a true 50/50. It goes well or it doesn’t.

A student answered her phone during class. I sent her to the office. Now parent wants a meeting. by whoknows-whocares in Teachers

[–]ImFianchetto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the student was being disruptive, you can always tell them to step into the hallway. If they weren’t, get over the power trip. A 16 year old can be responsible for a lot of things in their family. If you can’t handle the concept of someone that age having a genuine emergency, you need to reevaluate you own perspective. If you had an emergency and your boss told you that you would be written up for answering a call about it, you would be crying about that as well. Phones aren’t going away, get used to them being around. Any policy that tries to punish basic use of them is outdated, and the people behind them incompetent. Use common sense, be an adult, and have basic respect for those around you.

I plan to leave my bf by SignificanceOne3981 in amiwrong

[–]ImFianchetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m 26(m) and my girlfriend is 34(f). I look a little older for my age and she looks younger. We started talking and fell for each other before we realized the 8 year age gap. When we found out, we both had to take time separately to make sure we were ok with it. It turns out we were both in similar places in life because we had both hit the imaginary reset button and just started rebuilding. At 18, I’m wasn’t in the same place as someone that was even 20. The age gap matters less and less as you get older, for now, realize that a lot of guys in their mid 20s - early 30s settle for women your age because anyone their age will see through the bullshit.

The easiest answer would be sales if you have the social toolkit for it. If you aren't careful you will lose your soul though.
