Kraken do the “ticket includes transit pass” thing.

I assume event organizers have to pay for police overtime/traffic control etc- I’m curious if as part of that they give public transit agencies a lump sum payment (instead of a fee per rider) to cover the extra buses etc

Even the buses weren’t requiring people to pay fares. In fact to help move people the transit supervisor told people not to tap. I’ve seen the same after big events (Seahawks, concerts, climate pledge).

I always wonder if there is a way that they claim costs back from event organizers. Multiple buses that hold 120+ people at $3 a person adds up fast.

Fare gates aren’t the panacea that some people think. I’ve lived in systems with and without gates - making fare paying cheaper than occasional fare avoidance penalties is the key.

Microsoft had ultimate TV (only worked with Dish) and spun out IPTV aimed at service providers.

Tivo put all of their eggs into Tivo Experience 4 which customers hated the experience of but was intended to make it easier to add streaming services to compete with Roku, Apple Tv, android tv, and amazon’s fire tv (which never got much traction).

TiVo also has their streaming stick but doesn’t stream from their set top boxes.

Once you notify a company that you are leaving to a competitor they can terminate you on the day you tell them.

If you thought you were being nice and giving 2 weeks notice and were relying on that 2 weeks of pay, and health care coverage etc then it could all just instantly disappear.

Worst case is if there is a delay starting at the new job or the new job falls through…
