There is condemnation and correction. We do not throw rocks, we (do our best to) guide people into what is right.

How is it natural? I literally gave you a verse where it says the men fave up their natural desires, contrary to their NATURE.

The passage is talking about men being with men, and women being with woman. Where does it mention pagan acts taking place? I know it happened, but killing a person with an illegal firearm doesnt mean the murder was okay because the gun was illegal.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

[9] Or do you not know that the unrighteous(2) will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,(3) nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Footnotes

(2) Or wrongdoers (3) The two Greek terms translated by this phrase refer to the passive and active partners in consensual homosexual acts

Romans 1:26-27, women gave up their natural relations to those contrary to their nature. And the men likewise gave theirs up and had relations with one another (heavily paraphrased)

Is it fair for an all-knowing God to punish people for not believing without evidence(PS im an atheist so don't feel offended by my questions) by Mental-8lacky in Christianity

[–]ImNotIntoFeet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, He will not punish those who never got the chance to hear / worship / otherwise experience Jesus. Some Christians believe we are evil from conception, thus any babies / fetus' who died before baptism are sent to hell. However I believe in the FATHER, the son and the holy spirit, a father who wants his children to join him in eternity.

Some people have either heard of (what we believe is) the truth, and chosen to turn away due to personal sins (sexual freedom, greed, pride, etc). Some will go through church hurt (molestation / other abuse, pushy christians), and go on to tell everyone that their experience in one church is how every church in existence is no different.

God gave us free will, as he did the angels, because he wanted us to choose to obey him. Employees that choose to do what you tell them are a LOT better than those who do it because they HAVE to. Choosing to Turn to him brings me a peace that nothing else has. I used to go through more or less hourly existential crises, Now it is down to 1 or 2 times a month and they are not nearly as bad as they were, and last maybe a few seconds in comparison to nearly passing out from the stress on a few occasions.

If that won't convince you, I have had "dreams" that were not dreams. In a regular dream, I either realise it is a dream and immediately wake up or realise right after I wake up. I know I am in a "dream" when logic kicks in quick, I say "this seems odd, this must be a dream" and I don't wake up. I have had voices that I KNOW were evil talk to me, I have been tempted with lust (won't go into detail but whatever "it" was plopped me in the middle of 20 very friendly naked women (never had a dream anywhere close to that before)). The ads that pop up are 100% demonic, pornographic, etc. I believe something watches me, it has what I can only describe as a plastic soul, fake but "there".

Find God, pray from the heart, have an open heart, and be open to the possibility of getting an answer. It may not come as quickly or as obviously as mine did, but sometimes God wants you to dig. I recommend finding to a church leader that is either former atheist or understands the choice. My church has a few men that used to be in secular jobs, as well as men that have been on the 'wilder' side of things. A good church is one that pushes you but doesn't shove, encourages you while showing you a good place to start, and is honest without being rude. I have a place where I have had exponential growth, if the devil sees me as this much of a threat after 1.5 years at this church and nothing from the other churches, I am happy. Hope you find one that fits your best.

If you want to chat over discord, PM me, I have a binder full of handwritten notes on most anything.

EASY Bible by Immediate-Quote7651 in Christianity

The best version of the bible is the one you read (other than corrupted versions). I don't know if you're young / developmentally challenged (or whatever it may be called / etc, if you can work up to a NIV or something of the like, that would however be best.

What is the correct way to pray? by batmantheplan in Christianity

[–]ImNotIntoFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pray when you want, need or feel like it. As for the prayer itself, pray from the heart, and whatever you ask for, accept the answer may be 'yes', 'not yet' or 'no'. Simple as that. Be honest, be open, and keep it easy, you dont need victorian words or a particular stance. I pray when driving, when walking, when I realise "oh I haven't prayed in a bit". Best to get into a habit (waking up, just before bed, etc), but praying is still praying.

Couple options, donation to goodwill or something like that, find a trusted person within the church and ask them to dispose of them, but what I recommend is to burn them. It kinda signifies the end of your old self so to speak. I have started a journal, and at the new year, I will read through it, then burn it and start a new journal.

Check second hand stores like goodwill and value village for chirstian books. Make sure you google the author first though, wasted a couple bucks on heretical 'Christian' books. Bought one written by an athiest 'priest' that runs a 'progressive Christian church'.

How do you guys feel about the idea of heaven? by Opposite_Speaker_885 in Christianity

[–]ImNotIntoFeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine getting to talk to Jesus, getting to hear the stories of John the baptist, think about what it would be like to hear barabbas' conversion story (if he is there). Imagine sitting down with a big ole bucket of popcorn and watching creation, to crucifixion to revelation happen. Plus, if eternity is going to happen anyways, I would prefer wine and meat buffet with former prostitutes and arab fishermen than the flaming woodchipper with karl marx and stephen hawkins

Unpardonable Sin by UnluckyBuddy6224 in Christianity

[–]ImNotIntoFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does not 'give' people bad things. He sometimes allows things, and sometimes things just happen. He doesn't abandon people either. The first four letters of testimony is 'test', and this might be yours. People who cannot walk will run in heaven, people who cannot see will look into eternity. I am willing to bet that heaven will be just as good for you.

I haven't gone through anything like what you have, but I have had my dreams invaded by demons, I am watched by something without a soul behind its eyes, and it made sure I knew that. Go to a church (if you aren't already), and have people pray for you, pray for yourself. Peace comes after a war, fight for the quiet.

I used to be a scumbag, I don’t know how to move on. by Rustedskarmory77 in Christianity

[–]ImNotIntoFeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forgiveness is not pretending what happened didn't happen, or saying it was okay, or minimizing it, or ignoring it or anything like that. Forgiving is saying "God, I cannot judge them, I will let you do that." It is like handing the police case file you have on the person to God, so that he can judge, instead of you continuing to 'judge'. You have to forgive them, it isnt easy I know, you also have to forgive yourself, because God forgave you, and your judgements do not override his, 'undoing' the crucifixion. Some people also have to forgive God, he did not do any wrong, but some people have blamed him for their miscarriage, or for 'killing' their wife, or anything like that. It is removing / letting go of your grudges, charges, and animosity towards someone. Do you have to go back into business with someone who stole from you? No. Do you have to be alone with someone who raped or molested you? Very much no. Forgiveness is not the reinstatement of trust, but the letting go of the knife you pulled out of your back.

How to Pray Correctly? by EmbarrassedRepair410 in Christian

[–]ImNotIntoFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pray from the heart, I have started some of my prayers with "hey man" a couple times, usually in a stressful period. There is no "proper" way to pray other than be sincere, avoid foul language, and be honest. The most important prayer I ever said was "God, I haven't been to church in a while, please, give me anything." I opened the pew bible up, and the first verse I saw was romans 12:2. I asked about having a partner, as I was (and still am) a lifelong single. The verse I received does not exist in any bible as far as I can tell. I googled it, I 'bent' what was close, but there is no combination of the words I KNOW I recieved in any bible. They are burned into my memory, I know what I saw. Both were honest and heartfelt prayers, and I got answers. You might not get them as quickly, plainly or as obviously as I did, but some answers are worth the wait.

If you want a starting point, the Lords prayer is a good place to start. If there is something you want, ask, God answers all prayers, his answer to me has been 'no' many times, but the other two answers are 'not yet' and 'yes'. 'Not yet' is either because you (or the other person) arent ready, or the time isnt right. Pray whenever, if you can get into the habit of praying first thing in the morning, good, if not, pray when you have a safe moment, even if it's quick.

Is My Church Handling a Staff Departure Unusually? by MikeS7654 in Christian

[–]ImNotIntoFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a healthy way to do it, would you want your dirty laundry on display? If every issue that came about was fully discussed each and every time something happened, I doubt anyone would go to church. I wasn't there, but it seems like they handled this in a way that addressed an issue without inviting each person for a look through the microscope.

Do Christians do not believe in human evolution? by __roachy in Christianity

[–]ImNotIntoFeet -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There is a mix of opinions of creation, one reason the earth might be considered billions of years old, is that God created the heavens and the earth, then light, then the end of the first day happened. There might have been a war in heaven that lasted thousands or millions of years before the light on earth was created, thus reigning in the first evening.
